How many of you leave your partners at home

I once managed to persuade my wife to come to a festival (not Glasto). She stuck it for one night before packing up and going home. Admittedly it it was the year of the great rains and flooding and the place was a mudbath.

I go with a group of three other mates who all have wives who "don't do" camping. However we meet up with a group of women friends who, similarly, all leave their husbands/partners at home.

I think we all actually quite like having time away from domesticity.

Anyone else the same?

Yeah I do, not that my wife doesnt want to go to glasto, but someone has to look after the kids :(

We will all go together in a few years when the little'ens are a bit bigger, but the thought of toddlers, pushchairs & glasto dont seem to fit together!

I went with my OH last year, and we'll both be there this year, even though we're no longer 'together'.

Music is my life, I love camping, I love the country, I love people watching and I'm a bit of a (wannabe) hippy. I wouldn't miss it for the bloody world!!

Peace x

I haved been trying to get my other half to come to Glastonbury since I first went 10 years ago - but she just wont do it. Mainly for two reasons - toilets and showering facilities.

She loves camping and we go all the time, however we only go to campsites with decent facilities.

I managed to get her to come to a weekend festival once. V. we stayed in a travel lodge each night (which actually was a refreshing difference).

She has promised though, that she will come next year IF I find out a bit more info on the showers (where they are etc), as I havent got a clue.

I've tried to get my g/f into them but she's not having any of it. Which is a shame as it's one of the things I love most about life :D

So much that she bottled out of Firegathering two weeks ago even after I'd bought her ticket for her. Twas a scorcher and an amazing festival though so she missed out ;)

Took mine to EOTR last year as her first Festival.

However it will also be her last unless we go in a camper van!

Guess it is her last!!!

As much as I would love to do a camper van Glasto I just love the whole camping thing....

But my wife is happy at home with the dog and the telly anyway!

Went with mates in 2002 and 2003 and my wife moaned about not being invited. At that time I was getting backstage tickets and so got tickets for both of us to go in 2004 - however I spent the 10 days before Glasto in Portugal with my mates watching Euro 2004 and the severe lack of brownie points meant I was "encouraged" to stay and look after the kids. So my wife went with a mate of hers and only had an 'OK' time.

Despite that, we went together in 2005 and it was probably my worst Glasto - we couldn't agree who to see, where to go, what to eat, what time to crash out etc. Ended up packing up and going home at 7am on Sunday. Needless to say, I've been with mates since then! We have a swap going now - the three wives of me and my main Glasto-going mates have a weekend in Spain in October to compensate for our Glasto trip!

I spent the first 2 months of this year trying to convince my other half that he should come with me to glastonbury..

in the end it finally clicked that he njust wasnt that into the idea and i didnt want to spend my holiday worrying if he was having a good enough time.

we werent dating this time last year, it was my going to glastonbury and the appearance of a green eyed monster on his part that kick started our relationship!

my wife came in 2007 for the first time and due to the mud took a lot of persuasion (and a tent where she can stand up in) to return last year which she absolutely loved (not just because we got backstage passes for the guardian tent through a friend = clean toilets and free booze). this year she's pregnant with twins and decided to give it a miss

While my partner loves music as much as i do, i am afraid she won't do Glastonbury, or any festival...Its the toilets mainly.....i can see her point, now i know we could do a caravan or mobile home.....but that option is to expensive, even hiring one.
