Got mine to go to a Beautiful Days with me 3 or so years ago - she hated most of it.

Took a book and read for most of the weekend.

As for Glasto, she can't come anyway because she is a teacher.

I've promised to take her when she retires in about 9 years time.

For next year you could just keep crapping on the toilet seat, pissing on the floor or even invite a few mates round for a crap, really let it build up, get her acclimatised.

I did every Glasto festival that I had been to without my wife - but she came to see Leonard Cohen last year and loved it - she back for more this year!

I'm not enjoying all this "can't come cause she's a teacher" talk. I'm training 09/10 to be a secondary teacher, and my mother has ASSURED me that I can apply for special time off in order to go to Glasto each year, and that as a music teacher I'll be able to make a case for performing arts etc etc. If I find out she has been lying to me, there will be repercussions...

I love Glastonbury, my other half wouldn't come if you paid him, not even the year Rod Stewart (His favourite) was on. It's now become my pilgrimage to sanctuary and absence really does make the heart grow fonder, by Sunday when I speak to him in the morning (before turning my phone back off for the rest of the day!) I usually have a few missing you tears xxx

My wife has never been to Glasto and never will: can't do the toilets! She went to leeds for a day one year and that was bad enough for her. ;)

I'm therefore let off the leash to go with friends and this year, other relatives, as my sister is going.

I will be taking my son and daughter in the next couple of years while it's still free for em: this will somewhat restrict my activities but I'm happy to sacrifice a Glasto to give them this experience.

Me and my girlfriend both did our first Glastonbury in 2007. The monsoon conditions caused us serious issues and spending 2 hours on the Monday waiting in the pissing rain for the for the bus to the station almost tipped us both over the edge!

I went back by myself last year and had a phenomenal time - not because she wasn't there, but because the sun actually came out!

I've gone on about it so much since that she went from definitely not wanting a ticket when they first went on sale in October to buying one in April. So we're both going again this year.

Needless to say, I'm praying for sunshine. If the weather's good, she'll love it. If it's bad again ... well, I'm not sure she'll go back in 2010!

(Clearly that last paragraph is irrelevant as we all know it's going to be blinding sunshine Weds - Mon.

My wife doesn't do camping - she even doesn't do caravans if its raining 'whats the point sitting in caravan looking at the rain when I could be at home looking at the rain'!

So to add in festival loos / showers / lack of hair care etc etc she's better off watching Springsteen on BBC2 from her armchair as she doesn't get the magic in his live performances. Good job my 19 year old son does - we're have a whale of a time!

I've been going with the same 3 people since our first Glastonbury in 2002 - my other half, my favourite cousin and one of our best friends (I'm the only girl in the group too, but I'm practically one of the lads according to them). We all share the same love for Glastonbury - it's absolutely the highlight of the year for all of us.

They understand how much the festival means to me, and know that there'd be very serious consequences if they even dared think of leaving me at home :D;)

Missus doesn't like camping, mud, lack of showers, she avoids clean public loos when she can, never mind festie loos!

Also, her favourite artist is Robbie Willams. It's fair to say we didn't get together through music :P

I could twist her arm and try to get her to come, but what would be the point? She wouldn't enjoy it, and we'd end up having a big bust up!

It's healthy anyway to have a bit of time apart, she's off to France to see her family for 10 days in June. She enjoys that, I enjoy Glasto! Win-Win!

Went with the missus 95 and 97 - she loved it and so did I. Since then she's got a job as a TA at a school and finds it impossible to get time off in term time. Went with best mate in 05 (and again this year). Had a whale of a time last time as well, and I'm expecting to again.

Seriously, I don't think it matters who you go with (or on your own), a great time is guarenteed, proving you embrace the vibe and the occasional squalor.
