it is only on these boards that i have heard any animosity towards them.

most people i know don't like the new album as much but that doesn't detract from the first three which are all brilliant.

i just think it is cool to hate some bands as soon as your friends who 'aren't into music' start liking them.

Wouldn't say i loved them at all but i have always liked them and every time I have seen them they have been really great. My favourite album is Aha Shake but I do believe that their newest effort is the best quality. The song writing, production and overall musicianship is outstanding but unfortunately it feels all too fabricated.

It really annoys me when people say they've sold out because the album basicly has two big hits on it. Read any interview with them and it is obvious they have not sold out at all, it just so happens they wrote a couple of radio friendly songs - next album will be different again. Apart from a few numbers there really isn't much difference between only by the Night and because of the times.

I think people think they have sold out as the album was obviously written in way to make them more popular. Plus the album being quite bad. Think they even said in an interview hey were going to take a short break but after getting the glastonbury headline slot they decided to get a new album out there and make the most of it.

Aha is my favourite, though I'm a big fan of BOTT as well. OBTN isn't a bad album, by any stretch of the imagination, it's just not as good as the previous three, and hampered by the fact that Sex On Fire and Use Somebody were unaviodable for months and months.

Voted no for seeing them, but only because of the Faith No More rumour. If that doesn't come through I'll happily watch KOL.

Every interview I have read with them (including this months cover feature on Mojo) has been very convincing, in that they come across as very genuinly being shocked at how popular the album has become, they say they didn't set out to cross over with this record and I believe them. The album begins with one of the most complicated and challanging tracks they've ever done, whilst the second track is their first overtly political track - I think people are unfairly harsh.

Besides EVEN IF they did decide to make a album that would cross over, who could blame them. It's not like OBTN is their first record. OBTN is a much less straightforward album than Aha shake heartbreak.

Liked the first two albums, dont like the latter two. I wont be seeing them because they will play several songs from the first 2 albums. I dont hate them because they became famous, i just dont want to see a set where i think half of the songs arent very good, especially when comparing them to FNM.

I don't really want to see them, I liked their first couple of albums but I'm not a fan of their recent stuff and I wasn't overly impressed when I saw them a few years ago. I can see myself being dragged along to see them though coz my mates are fans
