How long is acceptable?

Well Funkfarley,

I know some might say you get in a queue and so hanging up and redailing is pointless, but I would not stay on hold for anyone longer than 20 mins, would surely hang up and redial.

It is very annoying tho.

From my experience, (not talking about See) but I much prefer the 'luck of the draw' type call than relying on a busy system to acurately transfer you because it knows how long you have been 'in the loop'.

I am sure there is someone that works for a call-centre that could correct me but I would try a few times every minute or so then stay on hold for at most - 20 mins.

I cant beleive you guys have been holding so long, I work in a call centre (tho the best in the industry) and its unaceptable that a client waits for more than a minute. infact most clients dont wait atall, seetickets ovbiously have alot to learn from other centres.

Same deal, I work for a certain bike/car parts retailer and if someone is waiting 2-3 mins then that's something that needs an apology for being unnacceptable, target time is 95% of calls answered within 20 seconds...companies that make their customers wait 20,40,60 mins or whatever must need their heads checking.

I think a good rule of thumb is if you don't get through in 3 mins, walk away, try again later when the lines are quieter.
