HAIR?

Basically,

I used to have shorter thinner hair so it was pretty easy to control, but now it's long and thick and i'm not a complete fan of the "au natural" scene, so how can I keep it straight for the whole festival? I've heard that gas straighteners are a possibility, what are your opinions??

If you're really, really, REALLY that bothered there are stalls that offer plug-ins for hair straighteners in the markets areas for about 2 quid or so. But I'm with the guys up there - who cares!! There's far too much to be looking at at Glasto, no one is looking at your hair. Hx

Speaking as someone who has an awful time with my hair in general. Its all very well chucking a hat on or just tieing it back in a ponytail but you want to feel good when your at festivals and in my experience, just not doing anything with it made me look like a twat when most other people look really good!

You could get the gas straightners, ive never tried them but I think its a great idea!

The past few years ive went and bought little rubber bands and braided my hair, I have long hair and at one year it took five hours! was well worth it tho ;)

I am a great fan of hats and usually just chuck one on, its looks cool with the braided hair also

Ive always wanted dreads and for my birthday ive saved up for some synthetics and luckily im getting them installed the saturday before glasto so I will have to wait and see how that goes! probably a nightmare when they get wet especially seeing as they are waist length!! but ive got a tube hat I will check em back in :D

Hmm im not sure what other options to suggest other than whats already been said by others! good luck and have a good one!!

x

There are hairdressers on site dotted about. You can even get a hairwash and blow dry for a fiver.

I can understand wanting to look nice and feel good in yourself but honey, seriously, you will be living in a field for 5 days where 174,999 other people dont give a f**k about what you look like!

Living like that is quite liberating and if you do get desperate as I said, there are places you can go to get made up.

Gas straighteners are OK, but it would take eons to straighten your hair every day - they are no GHD's. I'm taking mine only because I stupidly just got a straight fringe put in, but I will only straighten my fringe and that will take 5 minutes (if I am lucky!).

You can get straightening kits from Boots etc but I have no idea how successful they are.

Maybe try some products to give more of a style to unruly hair. Otherwise, how about a funky wig?

Firstly, make sure you have your fringe trimmed just before you go.

My tip (tried & tested although may sound really old fashioned)....I use a velcro curler! Just gives my fringe some umph till I'm too drunk to care!!

I just stick it in for 5 mins or so while I'm getting dressed. Under no circumstances should you leave the tent while still wearing it tho!!

Go for the gas straighteners! I take some but I wouldn't consider myself vain or anything. Different people just have different priorities.........

My hair is the type that looks dreadful if I do nothing to it, is too short to tie up etc. A couple of minutes in the morning is hardly missing out on the festival! And it makes me a happier bunny!

when i hear about gas powered straighteners especially at a festival with such green credentials the phrase "vain bitches" keeps appearing in my mind

leave her him/her alone ya bellends, its up to the person themselves if they want to make themselves look good and don't want to look like they've just walked out of a pile od shit...

also my mate used gas straightners at a festival last year, he said they are w*nk. i'm getting my hair cut shorter for the glasto so i need have to think about it!

i took some gas straightners last year, they were about £20 from argos. they werent amazing but did the trick.

my hair is quite curly and thick and the tent we used last year was crap and was soaked inside so my hair was damp in the mornings but 10 mins straightening it and it looked like the end of a night out which wasnt too bad considering! i'm taking mine again this year!
