Getting on and off site during the festival

There's a chance that I might have an interview during the Glastonbury week. If it's on the Monday or Tuesday that's absolutely fine. Even the Wednesday is workable. The issue is really if it's on the Friday, in which case I'd probably come Wednesday morning, go home Thursday lunchtime and then come back Friday evening.

Has anyone done anything like this before? How much time would I have to allow to get on and off site on the Thursday or Friday?

I've been looking forward to Glastonbury for so long I'll be completely gutted if the interview is on the Thursday or Friday

You should be fine. Traffic will have died down a lot by Thursday afternoon, and your going out anyway!

And id imagine you could drive straight in on the friday.

I think you'll be ok - especially as the weather is going to be nice and toasty this year!

My other half is leaving the site on Friday morning to go to work, then hot footing it back to the site for early evening.

The only minor trouble you get returning is you will be parked a lot further away from your original car parking space. BUT this in fact actually helps as although its a fookin long trek to get the gear to the car when you leave, you usually can get off site a lot quicker than those deep in the car parks. This happened to us in 04 when we 'popped up' to Brixton Academy to go and see Orbital on the Thursday!

I'll be public transporting it on and off site either way, assume there are shuttle buses to the train station - Castle Cary yeah?

Yep. The CC shuttle runs all the time the trains are running.

Can you not just tell them you're on holiday from Wed onwards so that they can squeeze you in on Mon or Tue?

Detective McNulty - it'll be an interview for a teaching job and there isn't a choice of day unfortunately - still, there's a good chance it won't be on the Weds/Thurs/Friday and of course I'm not even guaranteed to get that far!
