Is it dead at the main stage, in terms of people watching music? when i went a few years ago, there was a definite lack of enthusiasm for the actual music, and more people in their chairs clapping along e.t.c. I danced as per, but i do generally think other festival main stages have better atmos...

what a Bizarre thing to say :)

surely this depends on the acts playing doesn't it as the crowds and atmosphere change accordingly.

and personally i find it odd you can judge a crowd so large in general surely you can only really gage the pocket of the crowd you yourself are in.

TBH The atmosphere at the pyramid compared to dance tents really sucks, Last year I was making my way through the crowd to see Kings of Leon and the amount of moaners was sick! I mean its full of people who don't know where else to go so they follow the big bands and just flock to the main stage! The real fans/ravers are in the tents! ps we went to stanton warriors instead and no regrets!

The attendance for Neil Young will be stupidly big i'd imagine,

I'd feel really odd singing along to, for instance, "The Needle and the Damage Done" though, no idea why, maybe just the sheer beauty of songs like that could put me off singing along or anything.

Him and Bruce are still going to have ridiculous crowds though I'd say, particularly with Bloc Party and Franz on the Other.

I have never felt there was a very good atmosphere at the pyramid stage, the other stage is ok at night, the chemical brothers last year was good for example. All the other stages are good though. JP isn't as good now its way bigger though, I will add

Hmm this idea of lack of atmosphere doesn't ring true to me.

I have seen a number of acts over the years which have had a fantastic buzz eg Faithless (mentioned previously) and Brian Wilson :
