Hey, ive managed to get hold of a fairly good camping list of items what to take and basically filtered it down to the stuff we need and should buy. Im just curious about some of the items and their importance, also how many we should take, feel free to explain a few of these:

> Day Sacks ~ Just confused whether it meant Day Snacks ?

> Safety Pins ~ How would they be used ?

> Scourers ~ Again, what would they used for ?

> Wet Wipes ~ How many ? I've found a deal in boots and got 4 packs, that enough ?

> Bath Towels ~ Im guessing for drying your self ? But if its sunny is there any need ?

> Bin Bags ~ Got plenty, but how many do you think is neccasary ?

> Carrier Bag ~ Again got plenty, but how many ?

> Kitchen Roll ~ Is one roll enough ?

~ Tissues ~ How many tissues ? Like boxes or toilet rolls ?

Obviously thats not the camping list, those are just the items im unsure of.

Thanks

> Day Sacks ~ no idea tbh

> Safety Pins ~ you never know

> Scourers ~ for cleaning pots/pans/plates/ect

> Wet Wipes ~ i doubt you'll use a whole pack depending on the amount per pack but bring 2 just incase

> Bath Towels ~ depends if you have a shower or not but if you do then take one as air drying takes ages and who knows it might not be sunny

> Bin Bags ~ look at how much disposable shit you are bringing like empty bottles/cans and plan around that much with maybe afew more but you get given them on site for free anyway

> Carrier Bag ~ if you have a use for em then that many

> Kitchen Roll ~ dont need it unless you are cooking but yeah 1 is enough

~ Tissues ~ as many as you feel you might need. if you are snorting alot then they might be handy

> Day Sacks ~ Just confused whether it meant Day Snacks ? - ermmm...typo? Oh no wait...a mini rucksack! I remember now!

> Safety Pins ~ How would they be used ? For the obvious use...pinning things!

> Scourers ~ Again, what would they used for ? Washing your food up? Duh!

> Wet Wipes ~ How many ? I've found a deal in boots and got 4 packs, that enough ? You can never have enough baby wipes but THAT is a bit excessive!

> Bath Towels ~ Im guessing for drying your self ? But if its sunny is there any need ? Always carry a towel...see Douglas Adams for a lot of knowledge about that!

> Bin Bags ~ Got plenty, but how many do you think is neccasary ? Depends how much rubbish you plan on making!

> Carrier Bag ~ Again got plenty, but how many ? ...

> Kitchen Roll ~ Is one roll enough ? Maybe 2 but tbh again depends on what your camp activities involve

~ Tissues ~ How many tissues ? Like boxes or toilet rolls ? Bags of the little blighters...very good to carry in your pocket when caught shortat the long drops and there b'aint no paper!

Obviously thats not the camping list, those are just the items im unsure of.

Thanks

> Day Sacks ~ maybe a rucksack to carry stuff round in? Beers, food etc if you're going off wandering

> Safety Pins ~ To conceal any small bags close to your person

> Scourers ~ Again, what would they used for ? Cleaning pans if you're cooking

> Wet Wipes ~ How many ? I've found a deal in boots and got 4 packs, that enough ? Should be plenty - I normally make do with a couple of packs

> Bath Towels ~ Im guessing for drying your self ? But if its sunny is there any need ? Depends if you're planning on having a wash or not :)

> Bin Bags ~ Got plenty, but how many do you think is neccasary ? 1 roll will do it, they provide recycling bags for cans and stuff on your way in

> Carrier Bag ~ Again got plenty, but how many ? Don't normally use any

> Kitchen Roll ~ Is one roll enough ? As above

~ Tissues ~ How many tissues ? Like boxes or toilet rolls ? I normally take 1 toilet roll to last the week - unless you're planning on taking any unnaturally large sh*ts :) Sorry, couldn't resist!

Anyway, hope this helps

> Day Sacks ~ a bag to take round with you for the day, big enough for a jumper, waterproof, nibbles, bottle of water (or some alcohol, mixers and couple of cups) toilet paper, suncream and hand cleaner. In short, something to carry everything you need for spending the entire day away from your tent.

> Safety Pins ~ clothing emergencies (or possibly the punk look fancy dress)

> Scourers ~ if your cooking, cleaning you pots

> Wet Wipes ~ How many ? 1 pack of 80 wipes does me the whole weekend

> Bath Towels ~ There are showers on site. If its sunny, to lay on.

> Bin Bags ~ 1 per day, I take the end of a roll with me. If I do use any, it is at the end of the festival.

> Carrier Bag ~ I use them for wrapping up clothes, so if it is raining on the way there, they will keep dry, from then on, rubbish bags

> Kitchen Roll ~ 1 roll, maybe, If your eating at your tent.

~ Tissues ~ How many tissues ? I refer to use those mini packets, I'm packing 8 packs, i'll carry 2 with me (1 to use, 1 spare)

I reckon a handful of bin bags, couple of packs of wet-wipes and two bog rolls should do you off that list. Oh, and carrier bags are handy for packing stuff in before you pack it in your rucksack - keeps stuff dry, and you've got bags to put wet / muddy / dirty washing in. And they're handy for sitting on too to keep your arse dry if the grass is wet.

Worth noting re: toilet roll; always a good idea to take out the cardboard centre for space and to make sure its wrapped in plastic in your bag because any dampness and it's useless.

The small packs of tissues are definitely the way to go.

For blokes at least - the small packs of tissues instead of bog roll are definitely the way forward. You can fit one of them in your cargo pocket on shorts/trousers - and they go a surprisingly long way - and they have a built in semi-waterproof covering. If you really, really need actual bog roll just get it from the lockups.

I have to say I was far closer to going for a shower last year when it was sunny than I have ever been on a muddy year.

If it's muddy I work on the basis that as soon as i got clean I'd come back outside and immediately get muddy again, so I sort of give up on anything over and above hygeine washing (face, armpits, bits).

When its sunny, I end up feeling pretty stinky after a couple of days and the shower thing gets really tempting.

But to be honest I can never quite be arsed with the queue - so a quick wash down in the tent has to do!

Yeah - but either way - a towel yes!

Oh - and I always take safety pins and gaffa tape on the basis that between these 2 items there is nothing I can't fix - although I think I have never used either!

If it's wet (and of course it wont be :O ) you can never have too many bin bags in my opinion! Sooooo useful - sit on them, wear them (became a must-have fashion item in the very wet, muddy years of '97 and '98), wrap things in them to keep them dry, and of course stick your rubbish in them.

Day sack - vital! You need something to carry stuff around with you. The site is so big you really won't want to keep going back to your tent.

Regarding small packs of tissues - useful but expensive and rather unnecessary in my opinion. Take a loo roll (carefully wraped in plastic bags so it doesn't get soaked) and take some of those little food bags which have a seal accross the top. Place some loo roll in a bag, seal it, stick it in your pocket and, volia, your own much cheaper version of mini tissue packs!

You can only keep a few cans of beer in your pockets, a day sack is far more convenient.

I'd get a travel towel rather than a bath towel, they take up far less room, and are normally microfibre so dry quickly.

Daysack-------combats with zip pockets.

Wet wipes-----Two packs enough for a "tent shower" every day.

Safety pins----WTF?

Scourers-------See above.

Kitchen roll----/\

Bin bags-------One roll, great for keeping your clothes dry, and taking a sh*t in your tent(avoiding loos)

Anyone caught with a carrier bag will be branded a Planet Killer and ejected forthwith.
