cossie
A goat is very versatile - you can use it as a pack animal to bring your kit in, it's a security guard for your tent as it'll attack anyone within range, get a female and you have a ready source of milk to drink, and if all else fails you can always kill and eat the thing using the skin as a source of clothing! Mrs*E*
Plus surely goats (if under 14) count as 'kids' and get in free
18Alex18
Narrowed it down to this now - I left certain things in such as carrier bags and matches because they basically cost nothing anyway so if there's space in my bag then there's no reason not to take them. I know kitchen roll was questioned but we're borrowing a tent off someone under the conditions that if we ruin it then we give them the money for it so kitchen roll could turn out to be vital for keeping the tent in good condition. So basically, if I was to turn up with this stuff (and a tent, a sleeping bag, clothes, alcohol and money) I'd be pretty much covered? I'm going to put as much money away as possible over the next two weeks and hope I've saved up enough for a goat. planetcat
'buy a big bag of pasta and some cup-a-soups - cook the pasta then drain most of the water but leave a bit and pour in the cup-a-soup to make a cheap and easy sauce' What a fantastic idea!!! I would never have thought of that. Thanks!

orbiter
2 types of festival goer: the person expressing their inner ray mears and the person expressing their inner tramp. Personally I'd go light - even if you are a relatively sober person you'll still get too tired/mashed/excited to be bothered with the lack of an airbed/pillow/compass (wtf?)/chair etc Also if you're not on too tight a budget if you REALLY miss something you can just buy it. And often you can buy it cheaply. Tent/sleeping bag/clothes/booze

Glastonbury_2011
Wow, you guys really do take a lot. I think last year I literally took me with me the following: Tent. Clothes. Alcohol. Food. Sleeping Bag. Deodrant. I honestly can't think of anything else I took.
