List of bands with genres

Genres aren't helpful when it comes to big acts like David Bowie etc which don't easily fit into genres but in some cases genres are very easy to define and very useful

e.g.

Dubstep

Reggae

Heavy Metal

etc

the music within each of these types of genres will all sound very similar.

Not necessarily. Korn, Bon Jovi, Deicide, Metallica and Lost Prophets are all Heavy Metal bands, but don't sound anything like eachother.

Similarly Sean Paul and Lee Scratch Perry are both Reggae, but sound nothing like eachother.
