FLAGS

I like it...to the point and succinct. What does anyone gain by doing this? Apart from the odd pat on the back and 'waheeeey' from a fellow countryman...all seems a bit pointless tbh.

Pigeons/any animal on a stick though...NOW we are talking! :blink:

Amen to this post.

WE have a 10m flag pole and went weeks trying to find the right idea as to what to wave at the top of it.

I finally came up with an idea, we now have 2 flags which read:-

'Merry Christmas'

and

'Seasons Greetings'

If you see me say hello.....

Amen to that!

/* Huge generalisation below */

Why are Scottish and Welsh people so proud of where they were born? They didn't choose to be born there and although both are nice countries they're no better than England, or most other places.

Flags aren't only annoying but they are a sign of people being selfish & ignorant because they prevent other people -who have spent money & bought a ticket- from seeing an artist/performer on stage. There isn't a great deal to be said on the topic but i know i'm not alone in thinking they help ruin a performance because you can't see the singer etc from a distance because of a stupid, childish flag. When i went to an indoor gig recently, there weren't any flags, do you know why? Cause they are a bloody stupid thing to take to a concert. Go to the concert to see a band, not your flag on the telly when you get home & watch highlights i.e. grow up.

We're having a flag at our tent this year (for the first time ever we're going to be quite a large group and some people in it will never find the tents without a marker!)

I'm making mine though (so it's actually recognisable), thinking of putting pictures of flags on my flag :lol: I can't be bothered with the idea of lugging it around the site all day - far too much like hard work, I want to be watching the bands not what's happening to my flag!

what a very strange thread. how on earth can someone have a gripe against seeing national flags? it's a completely different argument altogether if you said "please don't take your flags to the performances as it obstructs my view" - that would make sense - but simply to be angry at what is ON the flags?

odd.
