Hello and Beunos Dias

I have just returned from South America, and before that New Zealand. Therefore I have not been on the forums this year at all as at this late stage (having landed back in Blighty May 31st) I have been 'sorting my life out'...

I have been a member here since 2004 and have lurked with occasional comments every year I've been to 'THE' festival.

This will be my 10th Glasto, (starting in 1995 and only missing 2003 and 2008 when I've been living overseas) and I'm looking to forward to celebrating getting into double figures in style!

However, as I've got older the 'pack' of friends I assembled since my first expedition to the festival as an 18 year old has dissapated and I now accompany only my bessie mate who joined me at the 25th anniversary and his girlfriend who are going to be doing it in style in a caravan!

Basically I'm looking for new friends and I thought this was the place to start. I am keen to attend some of the meet ups and perhaps camp in the 'triangle' (especially as the forecast looks AWESOME!). Is anyone in my shoes who wants to say hi and have a cider?

I would love to chew someones ear off about travelling, music, the festival, life the universe and everything and let them chew mine in return (ahem).

I guess my main question is, rocking up to the efest meet as a lurker, am I likely to feel like a spare part? And who are the main movers and shakers on the board so I know who to thank etc (as I mentioned, I don't have much time to research as I'm desperately looking for work atm!).

Cheers guys and - gotta say - BUZZING for this one, the line up looks legendary, the weather looks sweet and I'm sure you beautiful people will not dissapoint!

Peace out and CHEERS

lol/ I was doing a residential as part of my counsellor training, and I love hugs. However I hated the women on the course. We had a rather emotionally taxing session, and the tutor said "What do we all say to a group hug?". I just replied "What do we all say to 'f**k Off, where's the bar'?"

Hugs are good with the right people, otherwise they are just shit and very uncomfortable..

I've gotta share my excitement somewhere, thought there was no chance of making it this year, for various reasons but at the last minute the Glasto gods have looked kindly on me and as of late last night I have my eager mitts on a ticket.

So train booked down from the North East for Wed morning so should arrive in good time for the Wed cider bus meet.

Really, really on a high now as last went in 2003 but prior to that had been most years it was on since 1986, so pleased to be looking forward to that Glasto VIBE once again !!!

So look out for one more long haired old git at the efest meets.

Both Cider Bus meets, Wed night following on to Stone Circle could be fab & Thursday meet with the Disco after ;-)

..... and I'm liking the sound of Conga off to Rolf Harris & some knicker throwing at Tom Jones.

See ya there folks

I'm really interested in doing one of these meets...but nervous at the same time! I take it everyone doesn't shuffle about looking at the floor not saying anything, but instead runs at each other with open arms?!

I am so disappointed I didn't get to any of the meets.

I had a friends birthday on the thursday and by the time I had arrived and set u camp around 5pm and met up with them I didn't get to the Cider bus until 8pm, I wandered around looking for a flag but couldn't see one so I went round to the reggae cafe to watch to see if I could see a big posse with a flag walk past at 9pm but no luck.

My phone was shit all weekend and I struggled to get on the internet and here to find out other meet up times.

I had an amazing weekend though! already geared up for next year and this time I will make it to the meet ups!

Greetings Emesstivalers and now probably all very very tired, ready for beddybyes after that lovely hot bath and demudding of your filthy bods! :)

And a hi, hello and thanks to those that could find us on the Wednesday...flag was up...and apologies for not bringing flag on Thursday...later meets meant bringing flag along would have been mega hindrance! BUT I thought I did a reasonable job of pretending to be the flag by standing on one of the benches...the only bodling in a very clear and visible hi-vis vest with Efest logo on...heyho! :P

Hope you all had a stunning festival...it had its ups and downs for me...but by the Sunday/Monday uberbimble...Glastonbury had well and truly apologised and showed its true soul again after being a wee bit hidden behind the thousands of

'Peaches Geldof Clones'...quoting from the Guardian there...but you know what I mean!

Went to the cider bus meet, was good to meet Harrow Strongbow Man, Dave and other people (I forget names!) Can't believe Dave got given 5L of farmhouse cider too from a stranger when we sang him Happy Birthday! That wouldn't happen at any other festival! Until next year...
