Is there anyway to get hold of a ticket with no money!

So you agree we should advise people on how to get a free ride into Glastonbury then ?

Nope, I never said that at all, however I have no problem with someone winning a ticket or working the festival for a ticket

You think it's a good idea and admirable to cheat the festival and it's ability to give money to charity.

Wouldn't it be a Great festival if everyone had no money and no plans to spend any. Lets all not buy tickets and everyone just jump the fence.

You are completely turning my opinion on it's head and using it just to take the piss.

Your opinion doesn't even have a head I'm afraid, it's all arse. For future reference if you didn't spout such bollocks it wouldn't make it so easy for people to take the piss.

For those that are bothered about the future of the festival and it's ability to help the needy in a significant way my point is:

discourage free-riders.

I agree with this part, however I think that how we define the term freerider is where we differ. For your information I have bought a ticket and even though I will be spending some money at the festival very little of it will be going to charity unfortunately, as I will be spending most of my money on food and cider, which as far as I'm aware are not charitable causes, correct me if I'm wrong. Does that make me a freerider? I'm assuming in your opinion it does.

My whole point was DISCOURAGE FREE-RIDERS. FREE-RIDERS ARE SELFISH. THEY ARE PARASITES.

they take the piss out of the people who buy tickets and take the piss out of the festival and the charitable nature of those stalls that give away free-food to those who have probably run out of money.(not those who never brought any in the first place)

I don't think people planning to spend LITTLE money are free-riders at all. Surerth1ng said he was planning to spend "NO CASH". That would be free-riding in my opinion and selfish.

The OP had no money for a ticket. Some percentage of the ticket money goes to charity. (Charity loses out)

Many of the stalls at Glastonbury (FOOD AND CIDER) are local or have been supplied by local companies. Not very good for them if people don't plan to spend any cash at Glastonbury is it. You buying your cider and food is very good for the Local community.

Am I right in thinking the Eavis's planned last year to give away 2 Million pounds. If we were to encourage free-riders this would be less possible, right?

I was not referring to donations to the tin rattlers directly nor did I say so, I was referring to a proportion of the festivals income going to charity and benefiting the local community.

YOU SPENDING MONEY ON FOOD AND CIDER IS CONTRIBUTING TO THE COMMUNITY.

YOU SPENDING MONEY ON A TICKET IS CONTRIBUTING TO CHARITY, LOCAL AND GLOBAL.

THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU A FREE-RIDER.

PLANNING TO SPEND NO CASH AT GLASTONBURY PUTS THE FESTIVAL IN JEOPARDY AND HURTS THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND BENEFITING CHARITIES. THIS MAKES YOU A FREE-RIDER.

Understand now ? look at the bigger picture and you will see my point is not arse gravy.

My quote "Lets get together have a great time and do our bit to help the community and the world." refers to SPENDING MONEY ON FOOD AND CIDER. AND BUYING A TICKET.

BTW: I also have no problem with people who work the festival or win a free ticket. never said I did. Free tickets have been paid for by someone and therefore contribute. Workers are essential for the festival. where did I say it was bad to win a ticket ? It is bad to spend NO money when you are there though because your contribution is ZERO.

Insomniac your thick as shit and your sarcastic post is utter bollocks and just shows your level of intelligence. Next time please bother to read the context of the posts you reply to idiot.

Take the monorail from Pilton town, they're a bit slack with checking tickets and you can get right intot he center fo the site that way.

JodiB is right. The festival is only for the rich. If you save up for your ticket and cant aford the extra for food, drinks or tshirts on site then dont bother coming, your not wanted!

What a load of tat. I work at the festival, and shockingly get a wage for doing so. This must make me lower than even the lowest.

You do know that ME loves the idea of people working for their tickets? He ups the numbers of voulenteers on site year on year for this reason.

Yes it does. Planning on not spending any cash. How ? I take it you will be relying on other peoples charity ?

I go to other festivals too, more commercial ones in which charitites are far far less involved. If he wanted a free ride into V festival for example I would probably help him out as best I can.

Glastonbury is different, very different. It has a very different ethos. Lets get together have a great time and do our bit to help the community and the world.

The OP in opinion is wanting a totally free ride for his own ends and wants us to tell him how to do it.

This I feel is selfish by the definition below.

self⋅ish

/ˈsɛlfɪʃ/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [sel-fish] Show IPA

–adjective

1. devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others.

I don't have a problem with people working for tickets. No problem at all, never said I did. In fact they are essential.

I did not say it was for the rich. I said I didn't have a problem with people spending little money either.

People getting in for nothing spending no money I have a problem with.

What are you talking about ?

Leave it out mate you sound like a tw*t, the OP just wants to go to the festival and have a good time. You don't know his intentions when he gets to the festival as he has not listed them.

This will be my third time and the motivation behind these trips has nothing to do with charity, I go because I enjoy the place, the atmosphere, the music and my friends.

Also I know many people who don't spend money at the festival. I plan on spending about £50 myself. What is the point when you can bring in all your drink and all your food?

Well where the f**k does the OP say that he plans on freeloading as you're suggesting? By no money he may mean he has not got £185 to spare for a face value ticket. You're completely wrong Jodi and misunderstand the ethos of Glastonbury that you're preaching about. I'm sure the OP is only concerned about getting a ticket, not how he will scam food and drink from people when he arrives.
