Tesco Economy Beer

I popped by my local Tesco to pick up some economy beers but they didn't have any. Do they still sell it? It wasn't a huge tesco so maybe thats why they din't stock it and il be popping by a big one later this evening so i will check there anyway.

If tesco don't, then who does??

I bought 12 cans of own brand lager from Morrisons and it was only like £2.70 all together it's only 2% and has no taste to it at all I'm sure the Carling beer amnesty will appreciate some though

I've never bothered to ask for about 2 years, mainly cause i'm sure the answer is staring me in the face, but.. what do carling get out of taking all our shite tesco beer off us and replacing it?

surely they can't just do for the sake of everyone walking around with a carling can in their hand?

I've always had a feeing that they pour it all into kegs and ship it back to the brewery where its repackaged as carling and sent out to sellers as normal.

bench buddah pointed it out to me but it's obvioius really. but as he pointed out.

it's really really cheap advertising. think about it. all the tv coverage....everyones holding carling. in everyones photos everyones holding carling.

your in the pub a few weeks later...you buy a carling...because it reminds you of rockness.

just clever...simple...cheap marketing.

This is what I originally thought but it doesn't fly I don't think. Tennents get a huge deal more exposure by sponsoring TITP (albeit paying a lot of money for the privilege) but then they also get huge amounts of money from sales.

I don't know if many execs would give the go ahead for that many freebies simply for a camera glimpse on the bbc now and again.
