It makes sense for any act that gets relatively busy, as last year if there were a fair few people and you were at the back you couldn't actually see anyone on the stage because of the way the land lies

If the clash finder is accurate, and the big surprise is Saturday at 8, I'll be at Emmy the Great at the time, and will miss this. So hopefully it's someone like Coldplay or Placebo and not something amazing like a Thom Yorke solo set.

if we get rain then i'd bet the biggest health and safety hazard would be getting into/out of the Park field itself as the slope there becomes lethal when someone so much as spills a pint

Having said that metallica did a 'secret' set at Download a few years back in one of the tents during the day - so anything is possible!
