Captain Pugwash
With all the speculation about who may or may not appear in the special guest slots, I was thinking about the best way to find out (when we are actually there) any late announcements. People have mentioned the orange Glastonav application but this seems to have been not too good last year (by all accounts). So I was thinking/wondering if any websites update this information that can be checked by mobile during the day. I was thinking maybe Q or Guardian? Do their websites get updated with special appearences etc? Or are there any other better ones? What would be great is to be able to sign up to a service that just texts you when an announcement is made. I was also thinking of adding a weather site to my phone's bookmarks.........on second thoughts.
Captain Pugwash
I'll take that as nobody knows or cares then!!
jsn
.. Good thinking.... Glastonav was okay last yer IMO, I certainly got to know about things I would have missed otherwise (like Franz Ferdinand). I see that some others found it less useful, but I for one wouldn't ditch it altogether... really... Will also be having alook around for some other sites to bookmark though.... Shame these forums are not so mobile friendly, would be ideal for ongoing updates.... (and I don't think people don't care, they just seem to have been occupied wanting to row on the 'everyone blamed the theiving last year on..' thread )
robith
Glastonav was alright, but it kept sending me texts of random characters, sapping battery power
Mark E. Spliff
I found Glastonav was fine. It didn't drain my battery either, probably because I know how to switch applications on and off on my phone. It sends you text messages before the secret gigs start. If you have Glastonav switched off then you just get an unreadable text -which is your cue to switch Glastonav back on to read it. I'd say it was exactly what you are after. The only other thing you could try is listening to Worthy FM, but you're not going to want to do that for long periods while the festival is on.
