I remember thinking the last couple of years that they didn’t even take more than a split second glance at my ticket! It could have been as of a girl and I still probably would have got in!

It’s a bit of a risk, but if you go prepared to kick up a fuss with evidence that your mate is in hospital, I’m sure you will get in even if your sister can’t make it past the ticket checker goons.

Just be prepared and don’t give up if they do bring you up on it. There only human after all and in all honesty if I had someone complaining all day to me I would probably eventually give in and I run a company with not to dissimilar policies.

try and get some ID saying you're your sister is the other girl, and hopefully differences aren't amazing between your sister and the other girl..then ..*fingers crossed* will all be fine, they only glance at the ticket picture (not even sure if they even looked at mine, I looked a lot diff, longer hair, compared to shaved head - and i didn't bring id)
