I've not forced any of my friends, what I'll usually do is make them CDs of any band/s I think they should come and watch before we go, that way they get to decide before and don't get pissed off if I drag them to something they think is shit.

I've been on the recieving end and whilst it can be great to discover somethng new that you love, it can be incredibly annoying watching something that is absolutely horse shit when you could be doing something else.
