:D He is a joke man ha.

I hate people who try and make a sorry attempt to become credible after writing songs such as this hillarious monster!

Hey, I put some new shoes on,

And suddenly everything is right,

I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling,

It's so inviting,

Oh, short on money,

But long on time,

Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,

And I'm running late,

And I don't need an excuse,

'cause I'm wearing my brand new shoes.

I mean girls aloud, take that I can actually respect as they are pop bands and don't pretend to be anything else...but people like Paulo Nutini and that Scouting for Girls try and have this indie kind of 'edge' and its just nuts :O:)

Come on cool phil, compare that "hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling" shite to his recent stuff and its plain to see he is making a blatant (and sorry ha) attempt to be credible. If you like him that's fine but don't pretend he is good man :D

It's not a case of snobbery, as I said above, I think pop has its place just not when it pretends to be anything but that...No one loves a bit of Patience or Back for Good more than me! :O

Not sure what makes you credible or not but the fleet foxes are a band i would like to see and that i would imagine will have a decent/longish lasting carear and songs that you will still want to hear in however many years. I am not so sure about paulo thou, however he has the best name in music is it real?

What we discussing here exactly?

The tone seems to be if your lyrics don't mean anything really meaningful then you're rubish.

So we're narrowing talent down to a few acts who sing about politics, who you presumalbly only like if you agree with them, and affected twerps who sing about nothing but being in love.

Where do the prodigy, status quo or dizzee rascal score points over paolo lyrically. How about Led Zep.

Where for that matter do DJs slot in.

Nothing wrong with a sing along pop tune. For the record I think "New Shoes" is about the only song I like off his first album.

More bland pop rubbish dressed up as 'real' music, 27 Dec 2006

By Mr. M. Read "mdaread" (Bristol, England) - See all my reviews

This review is from: These Streets (Audio CD)

Pop has it's place, no problem with that. What does annoy me is when pop music i.e. forgettable, meaningless, fluffy noise tries to pass itself off as music to be taken seriously as seems to be happening more and more these days with bands like Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol, James Blunt etc thinking that if you're holding a guitar it suddenly becomes worthy. Wrong. This album is boring, pointless, uninspired twaddle from a pillock who thinks that if he has a fringe, a guitar and a slightly gruff voice, it becomes grown up music. It doesn't.

Someone elses opinion....

He's a goon now lets move on :O You like him, that's fine, I don't think he's credible, I think he's a fake, appropriating a new style to gain credibility. Just what I get from him, we all have different interpretations, thats ok isnt it? If we all played it safe and nodded to Radio 1, saying "yeah I love this Paulo shite!" then there would be no debates which are always entertaining!

As for Fleet Foxes v Paulo Nutini :):D:):):) PAULO NUTINI GOT HIS BREAK AT A DAVID SNEDDON (FAME ACADEMY 'FAME') GIG, REPEAT HE WENT TO A DAVID SNEDDON GIG...HE WAS INTO DAVID SNEDDON!:lol: Sorry I'm getting annoying now....
