pedmills
Clearly what happened is ITV thought that NY would finish at the same time as the other headliners, but as clearly stated in the running orders, he was due to finish at 11. He didn't walk off halfway through, ITV just screwed up.
When Jokers Attack
I think they said he left early meaning he had finished his set. The two clips they showed us of NY were down by the river and rockin' in the free world, These two songs are usually near the end of the set! cheesey_toastie
I hate this culture where we're not happy until someone looses their job... but surely if this is the case - some f**ker has got to be up for the chop! Do advertising rules stand for TV programmes? They advertised Live NY, and I sat through their f**king adverts for nothing! I want my life back! jamestheraver
I would just like to complain about the recent coverage ofthe isle of white festival. The coverage was billed as being 'live' but seemed to show very little actual live coverage at all. Also Neil young was scheduled to perform on the Sunday night and no coverage of his set was shown, despite this being advertised. The coverage of the festival in my opinion was a joke to be honest. The Programme mainly featured Ferne Cotton and her fellow host rambling on about total utter rubbish for the most part. 2 songs and chat per every 15 or so minutes followed by long advert breaks and then the same again. It was a shambles. I think ITV should take notice of how the BBC broadcast festival coverage to save embarassment for the future. Pads
Thats brilliant this is mine I was hoping to finish my weekend of with some live music to finish of the weekend, but to my horror i watched the worst Festival coverage in all my life. Firstly Fern cotton; if you are going to cover a festival please make sure you emply some one who actuakky knows who they are going on about. If i hear Fern say 'Jimi hendrix played here' one more time i think i will actually scream Secondly refus the prat; I actually felt like throwing up after countless people licking his beard 'what the hell was that about' Lastly the coverage stated 'LIVE MUSIC', i dont think i saw sod all all bloody programme. Also if you are going to state that 'Neil Young' is going to be shown make sure you show it. Thank you for wasting my evening regards

scaryclaireyfairy
mine - With great anticipation I watched your Isle Of Wight Festival programme this evening on ITV2. While I knew not to expect his whole set, I at least expected to see a bit of Neil Young's set as the headliner. That you would be broadcasting it was all over your advertising for the programmes. At no point during the broadcast was it mentioned that we would not be seeing any of Mr Young. Can someone please explain this? At the very, very least we should have been made aware that you would not be broadcasting him, for whatever reason. I am unable to discuss the quality of the rest of the programme without swearing. Yours etc.
Zacko
Don't suppose any other networks filmed his performance? Foreign channels etc or do they all use the same shots and footage?
ig1234
Yeh he was scheduled 9-11pm... so how stupid is Cotton to think he was off early?
Pauljoanss
It always seemed just too good to be true, and it was. When was the last time NY was programmed to appear live from a concert on UK telly, I do not think it was in the last 30 years. Really must hear the full story from behind the scenes. Virtually all coverage was recorded so they must have been recording Neil. Surely they never intended to only show live because it just would not have worked with adverts and strict 11:30 finish. Some thing went wrong and would love to know what. Could have been NY himself, he is very indepentely minded. It is very petty, but I wanted to see his outfit and so could copy it for myself for Glasto. Lets hope he did play 9:00 till 11:00 as programmed above and did not "finish early". Must wait to hear the full story, just hope this does not effect his Glasto performance and BBC coverage.
