I have just bought a few of packs of 'Travel Johns', only to see your all raving about shepee, whizz & p-mates. Should I reconsider my purchase? Its also for the use of children {8 & 12}, not just me. Any thoughts?

Haven't tried them out yet, will wee need to practise?!

I got some last year but didn't need them! My hubby thinks that they are gross, but if you need to go and its raining in the middle of the night, then I know what I would choose. I also have a she-wee, and haven't used that - should practice really, but then it means I have to look at what I am peeing into!!!

I am taking both again this year, who knows, I might be daring and give them ago!

travel johns are great, no need to leave the tent in middle of night etc, no smell, easy to dispose of hygenically! Just hold them close to the body so no leaks occur or use with a sheepee!

Personally i couldn't get on with the sheepeee (Im a girl by the way :D

The time I like johns are first thing in the morning when you need to pee but really dont want to trek to the loos!

Think im gonna have to have ago before we leave, thanx for the advice. It was awful thought of going to the porta loo in the night that was the main concern, nasty! :D

Surely a big bottle of fabric conditioner (empty of course) is just as good, even for the ladies? As for me i can pee into a empty beer can without a spilling a drop (most times), but then i do have a handy attachment called a penis.

The travel johns will be easier for the kids to use, there is a shaped plastic part that you place under your bits if you're a girl, or stick your willy in if you're a boy, it's as simple as that. With the whiz/shewee you have to practice a bit to get the correct position to avoid it going the wrong way.

They are biodegradable so you can just put them in the bin. They are an absolute godsend and in my top 5 of must takes. I may also take my purple whizz this year to use with a bottle. If you don't manage to get any beforehand then Joe Bananas sell them in packs of 3 onsite. I think they are about £7.00.

I was wondering about just getting a wide necked bottle like have heard other people mention but then what do you do with the wee-wee? presume you then need to walk with it to the loo to tip it down? much before the idea of sealing it and chucking it in nearest bin.
