Last 3 Mainstage Bands.....?

I would love to see them in the tent but of course it won't hapen this year I will just have to hold out til next year or the year after and make sure I do see them (missed them last time)

Correct me if I'm wrong but did Interpol play the NME in 03 or 04? Pretty sure that the mainstage wasn't their Reading debut?

Interpol are my 3rd or 4th favourite band of all time, and TOTBL is my favourite album of all-time; I'm a giant fan.

They played well and the turn-out was impressive, but the setting was all wrong. Sunshine, apathetic crowd (not enough people knew songs beyond Evil), and it was a bit awkward. I still enjoyed myself loads, but I could tell it wasn't that strong. Comparative to their Latitude headline set the next year, which was phenomenal (I rate it in my top 5 gigs of all time), it's clear that darkness and a more intimate, appreciative crowd bring out the best in the band.

I reckon they'll be back in '10/'11 to headline the NME Tent, that'd be amazing.

Ash were awesome that night Also there's the fact that they are infinately better than Interpol, who from what I've heard of them are not fit to perform soundchecks for bands as good as Ash.

Interpol were absoloutely epic. Where we were standing everyone was having a right good time. THe crowds reactions to songs on youtube backs me up

Ash are amazing live, Interpol can be good live but when I saw them I fell asleep (as good as), Brand New aren't worth the time of day.

Briefly in 07 - and the odd song on record. But as I say there are so many other better bands, why would I waste my time on Brand New? They offer absolutley nothing that is new.
