Hey, the vast majority of the bands on FR Stage, I've never heard of so I was wondering if you guys could gimme some tips on the better bands to listen to as I won't be able to check them all out.

So far I've listened to Middle Class Rut and White Denim but any tips on good bands would be helpful.

Thanks.

Bear hands and Amazing Baby are two bands from New York who are pretty good. The Soft Pack is my tip to be the big breakthrough of the weekend, love them. Golden Silvers and Hockey are already quite established and should be worth a look, Titus Andronicus and Magistrates are also worth checking out. Chapman Family are alright and The Big Pink have been hyped up a fair bit but personaly I think they are overated.

Black Lips are great on record - a mix of fast garage rock, a lot of 60s influence and self-styled 'flower punk' - but excel live. I've only seen them once but at the end the guitarist was crowdsurfing with his cock out and playing his guitar with his teeth simultaneously, wearing a 17th century pagan hat. Amazing.

Go and see Soulsaver with Mark Lanegan.

Mark is an incredible musician solo, or in a group. He has made some fantastic albums with the Gutter Twins, Soulsavers, Queens Of The Stone Age and his solo stuff is brilliant. Soulsavers are a really great band, check out Revival for one fo their songs, really great stuff.

other than this.... ' A Place To Bury Strangers' are a rather good new band, White Denim are great, Magistrates have some good tunes, grammatics... fromw hat ive heard seem ok too. The Chapman Family are a really great new up and coming group too.

Go Crazy....
