BBC Coverage

Another marker in the countdown, Radio Times arrived this morning and runs up to Friday 26th so has full details of first day coverage.

Need this to start planning PVR recording schedule but its going to be very complicated, early and late programs on BBC2, lots of stuff on BBC3 and also some on BBC4. Lots of overlaps so it is going to need some thought. Sat & Sun will probably be the same but will have to wait until next weeks issue.

Will Neil Young fair better with BBC than ITV2 shambles, I hope so.

Was looking at RT online last night and that goes up to Sunday now (albeit some of the detail a bit 'first draft'). Lots of airtime again as usual but the thing I noticed was that all footage on bbc3 & 4 are acts on the pyramid/other - nothing from the Jazz Stage.

The IOW Coverage was absolutely shocking, and they made a massive cock up with the whole neil young thing.

The Glastonbury coverage was really really bad last year, I really hated it, didn't show any unique parts of the festival and just treated as a sports event, not the best hommage to the biggest music and performance art festival in the world. Lets hope this years is better

rememeber getting back from 2007 and the the best of show was on.

Laren Lavern and zane low were discusing who were the highlights etc and both agreed that Bogol Bordello, the who and ? (can't remember the third) were the highlights of the weekend.

Brief highlights were then showed of all the bands who do free gigs for Radio 1 - Kaser Cheifs, ting tings etc.

who ever did the one big weekend will be the acts shown on the highlights.

BBC Three has all the fun of the festival on from early evening till 12.30am on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Reggie Yates and Edith Bowman and featuring popular acts such as Lily Allen, Lady GaGa, Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand and The Ting Tings. Coverage starts later on Sunday at 10.45pm with performances from The Prodigy and Black Eyed Peas

ha ha predictably they will be showing anyone who played at the 1 big weekend.

you scratch my back....

even though there not playing i'm suprised they haven't added Kaiser Chiefs to the list :D

The HD coverage two years ago was fantastic, have still got the friday and saturday prgrammes on my sky+. They covered the Pyramid and Other stage only but had long sets of lots of bands with no annoying presenter drivel in between. Each programme was 5 hours long so you can imagine the damage that did to my planner in HD.

Last year was not as good though, the stuff on bbcHD just mirrored the other bbc output, hopefully they will revert to the 07 format.

this year i have had sky+ installed especially for glastonbury and i would like to set it up before i make my way down there without relying on my son to record shows from either bbc 2 , bbc 3 or bbc 4 . However bbc 2 and bbc 3 clash with each other ( sounds familiar  ) on there evening shows so its a bit hit and miss to which artists/bands i would like to record . I should imagine bbc 2 shows will be on iplayer for the week but will this be the case for bbc 3/4 ??

It would be nice to know that all will be available on iplayer for a few days in case i do miss the bands i would have liked to have recorded

I would certainly buy a copy. Surely everyone would?

Isn't there scope for an official souvenir DVD nowadays? Easy to produce and with very high profits, which could go in the charity pot. Obviously getting the headliners involved might be a struggle, but they're already going to be on the TV.

Between the best festival in the world and the BBC can't this be done? In 2009?
