I've got a canvas manbag which I got a few years back in Barcelona, and taken it to loads of festivals and parties. It holds 8 cans of lager and a bottle of water / mixer, as well as other useful supplies.

Last year on the Sunday I also used a larger rucksack has had loads of beers left. It was really handy whilst watching bands on the Pyramid and Other Stages, but when I went to Trash City afterwards, it got in the way a bit.

Guardian drawstring bag for me, does the job nicely.

Only use a bag for carrying cans in and it gets annoying carrying an empty one at the end of the night, this way you can donate to some needy stranger / bin once you've drank its contents and get another with your morning paper the next day.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Just bought this one. £19 with 1st class delivery. Not leaving until Tuesday morning so I reckon it'll arrive in time...hope so anyway!

I think this is necessary. I always take a bag and find it very useful. However I would steer clear of a rucksack as a mate had on one year and had a load of stuff nicked out of it in front of the pyramid. A good side bag is needed.

Recycle is the name of the game

Get a guardian on the first day, last couple of years it comes in a cloth drawstring bag/mini ruck sack thingamy, its just about the right size, though the 'strings' could be a bit longer (I prefer to wear mine snapsack style across one shoulder with the bag resting in the small of the back).

you need some sort of bag: just enough to carry enough cans as you can fit, your waterproofs etc.
