Special Guest - Friday Pyramid Stage

I know there have been lots of threads on who might be the special guests, and the general concensus was that N*E*R*D were going to be the occupiers of the Friday slot on the Pyramid Stage.

However, in the leaked Guardian Guide it suggests that it is a solo artist, with the 2 acts on the Park that day are both bands. I am basing it on the assumption that the singular from of special guests indicates just 1 person.

Or maybe I'm looking into it in too much detail?

while that singular "guest" could have something to it (it's got us in the efestivals basement considering if it means anything), it might just be the result of a typo.

The Uncut website seemed to state that Thom's Latitude performance was an "exclusive midday show". Does that mean he wouldn't be in breach of contract by performing later than midday elsewhere?!

i would hate to be @ the front only for it to be sum band or artist i couldnt care for, or dont know.

The BBC thng might not be completely accurate. They (and orange) had Patrick Wolf down as Saturday morning on the Other stage and he's off in 'merica

This feels like wishful thinking (particularly the Thom Yorke stuff)

Is the answer not that it will be NERD and that Kanye will have a slot on The Park (which fits in with the health and safety warning from Emily I feel)

All a little disappointing if that is the case, but thinks like this so often are.

I read a statement from some geezer at Latitude who said that Thom Yorke's solo slot was an exclusive that he's doing just for Latitude.

No idea how honest this bloke was because IOW said that Neil Young's appearance was an exclusive as well.

stop worrying about who the special guests are ahead of time...they are always announced on the day in the Q daily, so just get a copy of that on the day itself, and then tell as many people as you can who it is....simples!

Virtual Festivals have confirmed NERD this morning, saying from their manager?!

They were confirmed by Emily Eavis on about 16th May in an interview she gave to a newspaper (I forget which one now). VF are as on-the-ball as ever.
