The View

After the buzz of their first album, we saw the view play high up in many festivals- last year on the nme stage at reading and T in the parka few years previous- however, ever since their new album, which i have to say i am a big fan, they seem to have been disregarded and barely spoken of.

I was just wondering if any one knew of why they are fairly low on the sunday at reading?

RHCP did put on a dissapointing performance, but I'd still stand through an entire weekend of John Frusciante and Flea w*nking their instruments whilst seeming bored than an hour's set by The View. Terrible band.

We Are Scientists then Hot Hot Heat would've been a better decision though.

i prefer the view to all of those bands.

never liked the chilli peppers bar one or 2 of their ballardy songs. i can't handle the singers voice, his hand actions, his hair (i know this doesn't matter really)and i especially hate the funk songs. i understand they are talented musicians with a huge fan base but i can't stand them!

I don't think it was too surprising seeing The View headline NME. I remember back in 2007 they were the "band of the moment" and were really hyped up. I think most people knew Same Jeans whereas We Are Scientists, depsite their reasonable level of success, have always struck me as a quasi-cult band.

It's only surprising that they headlined NME in retrospect because you never hear about them any more.
