2009, The Unmissable Acts

Well if 2008 wasn't enough to increase your festival appearances in 2009, then something is wrong or you are simpy MIA.

Last year saw the rise of some of the best acts alive including: Yeasayer, Modeselektor, Lykke Li, MGMT.

Here is a starter list for the acts of 2009. No doubt this will change as the season rolls.

1. MODERAT

2. FEVER RAY

3. SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO (check out their 'set of the year' from Primavera Sound this year)

4. ROYKSOPP

5. LA ROUX

6. PASSION PIT

7. EMPIRE OF THE SUN

8. CAGE THE ELEPHANT

9. FILTHY DUKES

10. PHEONIX

Also, maybe I'm just getting old! but the 2009 Festival season seems like a great opportunity to me to see some bands from the 90s & earlier that have reformed or are back touring after long spells, especially if you missed them first time around.

My list of (old) bands on the festival circuit this year that shouldn't be missed:

1. Faith No More

2. The Prodigy

3. Beastie Boys (I think US & Canada Festivals only)

4. Nine Inch Nails

5. Jane’s Addiction

There's also:

Oasis, Marylin Manson, Blink182, Korn, Placebo, Public Enemy
