Is a week-long Glastonbury festival a possibiltiy for the future?

Do you think the festival will ever become a week-long event and would you go?

The Monday & Tuesday would be more camping-based and run with a small amount of entertainment, building up on the Wednesday (a bit like the current Thursday plan) and then the main event Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun.

Obviously this would never happen in the next few years, but as more and more festivals compete in a tough marketplace surely it'd be a great advantage for Glastonbury to offer completely unique 7 day break in paradise.

Other advantages would be increasing the revenue from stalls/sponsors. All of the 'work' areas can still be fenced off like they currently are on Wed/Thu.

I think a lot of people would take them up on the offer too, even if it meant paying a premium. Afterall, how many times on this forum have you read the words "its my summer holiday"?!

I noticed the other day that there is a festival already doing this now - I think it's Green Man (?).

You pay around £115 for the weekend festival ticket, and for an extra £30 can buy a "holiday ticket" which allows you to camp from the Monday. It will be interesting to see if this starts to catch on elsewhere, tho I can' only see it being possible at a few due to the layout/logistics of the festival site.

To be honest there not even that much happening entertainment wise the first 4 days at Roskilde, just meeting new people and getting drunk! Im hoping Glastonbury gives a simlar vibe which from what ive read so far it seems it does, the down side being with no long warm up you have bands as well which can get in the way I guess!
