muse with kasabian sub-headlining would be a good pairing. same with green day and blink, but can't picture that happening considering the hype reunited bands get. foo fighters get my approval too, simply because they're a brilliant live band, and just perfect for festivals.

i'm not sure about the "legend slot" - not really assed about the idea anyway.

other bands i'd like to see next year (realistic):

incubus

coheed & cambria

the mars volta or at the drive-in, dependent on reunion

65daystostatic

biffy clyro

mgmt

innerpartysystem

underoath

paramore

decent "nme bands" - doves, elbow etc

Part of me wonders if kasabian could headline. Of the british bands that havent yet headlined a festival I would have thought they were next in line. They would be a risk but no more than someone like blink 182 who are proabbly borderline headline material like kasabian.

The thing is surely festivals cant continue using the same headliners time and time again. Some festival has to take a risk and give a band its first headlining slots. I cant off the top of my head think of anyone but kasabian and blink who fit the bill and both wouldnt look out of place as second headliners. My suspicion is however that festival republic may take the safe option and wait for glastonbury to create new headliners as happened with white stripes, arctic monkeys and kings of leon.

Kasabian have already stated that they're not doing festivals anymore unless they're headlining, they're only doing Glastonbury this year because they have no chance of headlining next years anniversary with the planned "Best Of" line-up and because the booker for Glastonbury already had them as the main act for The Great Escape and there was that slot free when the "Fourth Headliner" pulled out, they obviously felt they couldn't pass up the opportunity to be The Bosses Special Guests :D.

They'll headline Leeds next year I'd have thought, along with Green Day and Muse?

Kasabian aren't really good enough to headline yet i don't think, i've seen them a few times and they are pretty awesome, i do like a few of their songs.. But live they haven't truly blown me away yet, they're good but i'd be a bit underwhelmed... 2nd headliner is perfect for them IMO, especially at a festival like reading where the headliners are nearly always exclusives and huge bands.

This would be mine there are only seven bands on each day, obviously there will be a couple of new band across the stages and the lower acts I've put on there could be bumped down.

Feel free to make additions to see what you lot would add to or take from that line-up to make it better
