Might be Pixies. NME's advert for next weeks issue is for the Glasto preview. Was reading it in Tesco - had "featuring..." and Pixies were the last name on the list. Would make some sense as IoW had them on an exclusive - could be a way around that.

Hope it's them.

Just reading through this thread....So Special Guest suggestions include:

Noel Gallagher B)

Derek Acorah :D

Klaxons :D

nobody special at all

Libertines :)

NOT Florence and the Machine - playing already elsewhere

NOT Kasabian - playing already elsewhere (Pyramid main support to The Boss)

McFly :D

Manic Street Preachers Or Simple Minds

Thom Yorke

Pixies.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

My money is on Klaxons, unless Mr Radiohead happens to be free that eve & gets a heli-chopter in??!!??

(Carbon footprint and all that! :D )

For me it's irrelevant cos just like Noel G, I will be watching Leicester's finest! :)

i agree,a lot of classics are done with simple chords, yet how there put together and the lyrics with them is just genius. When anyone here who bashes noel can wirte a song on the level of wonderwall then they can have a right to criticise!.lol.

But they didnt did they? Noel did. Its the same argument people aim at art, specifically modern art. They say 'i could have done that, therefore its rubbish'. but you didnt do it did you? no, you just lazily slagged it off.

And as for the simple chords used, just a few examples of chords in classic songs. All simple chords. Often simplicity is the key.

The Man comes around - C Am F G

Born to Run - E A B

Hurt - Am C D G

Waterloo Sunset - E B A Fm A B

Stand by me - A Fm D E

Wish you were here - C D Am G D C Am G

Like a rolling stone - C Dm Em F G

Just like heaven - A E B D

Wont get fooled again - A G D

Hey hey my my - Am G F C G

I think you get my point.

ps, im not some massive noel fanboy who instantly jumps to defend him, i like early oasis and i even like noel, didnt agree with his view on hiphop and thought they were SHIT in 04. i just think that the arguments that get thrown are often childish and ill informed.

Noel Ghallagar is an absolute twat, and a complete tool. He reckons he is a complete god and probably masturbates over himself, just because people have said they are the next Beatles. No one, and I mean NO ONE can match the sheer brilliance and care free melodies of The Beatles and general psycadellic bands of that era. If they were the next beatles, then they would be honest, deep and care free about the music they make not causing controversy in the papers and having fans that bottle the shit out of people. Yes, Wonderwall is good, yes, a few other singles are good. But anyone could have picked up a guitar and written that song, and as a guitarist I can a sure you that most of the chords they use are very simple and could be played by any novice guitarist.

Cheers,

Oasis' Murrayfield Stadium Show Descends Into Violence

A man is stamped on by thugs at Edinburgh gig...

Oasis' show at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Wednesday (June 17) descended into violence as fights broke out amongst the 70,00 strong crowd.

Police confirmed there were eight arrests and two reports of assault, while one man was hospitalised after being beaten by a gang of thugs.

'Alcohol fuelled' fighting broke out before the band took to the stage, with reports citing rivalry between locals and fans from Glasgow as fuelling the violence.

The hospitalised man was allegedly beaten by five men while Kasabian were performing in broad daylight and was carried away on a stretcher once fellow gig-goers had managed to intervene.

A witness told Scotland's Daily Record they blamed security for not doing enough: “Stewards were looking on and not doing anything. It was a proper beating this guy was taking. Even when he was out cold, they were attacking him."

Another female fan told the newspaper: "At one point, one of them actually stamped on the guy's face or body. What angered me more was that security stood by."

The Daily Record has obtained a video of the attack and are asking witnesses with any information to come forward.
