Ray Davies ...

I only just realised that he was headlining the Acoustic tent one night, I think it clashes with Bloc Party / Doves on main stages.

I was already torn between these two. Do you think he will pull out all the kinks classics? I should probably get hold of some of his albums, but I bet he has had bloody loads with a 40 year back catalogue!? I failed miserably with Neil Young!

Where should I start and do you think I will have time in the week that's left to appreciate him if I go see him!?

Saw a review of his new record the other day. Apparently it's a load of kinks stuff performed with his local choir. If he's doing this live it could be worth checking out.

Yeah I caught that on tv the other day, I wasn't sure if he would be doing that stuff. Could be something a bit different...

Saw him last year with a full band doing a mix of Kinks and some of his own stuff - things Like Village Green Preservation Society. This time I don't think he'll have a full band so may be more wistful acoustic stuff. But you can still do things like Waterloo Sunset as a great acoustic number.

He's a good entertainer and story teller between songs.

I saw that telly thing the other week, think he was on the one show, the sound was good with the orchestra / choir in the background. Think im gonna try to persuade a few mates to go there for this one..

the promo video for the choir album on www.raydavies.info really makes me want to see them!

Would a full choir fit on the acoustic tent stage though!? Only been there a few times and can't remember it being that big!

Also, cheekily - anyone know where I can "get" his acoustic album, i've ordered it off Amazon but it won't be here until next week and need the weekend to get into it! (pm only of course!)

The singles collection is the place to start - its amazin, think there are 25 tunes on it and every one is unbelievable.

I love Ray Davies but not as much as Neil Young. Not into Bloc Party at all and think Doves are alright but its defo got to be Neil.

Kind of overlooked the fact he was on. Not blown away by many of the Friday night headliners (I know Neil Young is on but he's not really for me) but Ray Davies would we way cool, never seen anyone in the Acoustic Tent either, so a good way to break that duck too

I've started the campaign to persuade my boyfriend that he wants to see Ray Davies.

With or without him I'll be there. I strongly suspect it'll be the highlight of the festival (possibly my life )
