Brilliant i cant believe 4 people backed me up on goodbye my lover tears!

I was expecting to get laughed at if anything! Me and my friend were walking away from the stage saying "Right i'm not ever going to let anyone call him James c**t ever again" Just after that and up the hill a bit we heard a mans voice saying from inside a tent "Thank f**k James c**t is finished!" GRR lol

I'm not generally a cryer - but live music does raise bumps and I get a lumpy throat/strangely moist eyes for no obvious reason, and often at quite noisy/rowdy gigs, as well as more predictable moments - its something to do with a shared crowd euphoria.

I've been known to wipe away the odd tear/gulp a bit in the past whilst watching live (in no particular order) Rory Gallagher, Show of Hands, Faithless, Springsteen, Red Snapper, Jeff Buckley, FLC's, Oasis, Muse, Ron Sexsmith, Ezio, Boo Hewerdine, Counting Crows, Seth Lakeman, Imagined Village, McCartney, Pink Floyd, World Party, & even.....Status Quo (but that was at Live Aid 1985, opening song- got my head burnt- but can't hear Rockin All over the World now without remembering that day :P )and many more snifly but less memorable times...

Happens even if i watch decent band on DVD or TV. Although the Isle of Wight coverage last week made me cry for very diferent reasons :D

If I stumble upon anyone covering any Nick Drake I'll lose it I think!

Other than that (and I've said it elsewhere) Cortez The Killer (even writing it!!) gives me the shivers. I so hope to god Neil plays it. Great way to see in your first Glaso!

I have everything crossed you could possibly cross and then some.

Never actually cried at Glasto... But in 2007 I came pretty close when The Who played Behind Blue Eyes. It was such an awesome moment, and the song means a lot to me. What a night that was...

  • 4 weeks later...

Two for me - Message To You Rudy by The Specials (I felt Id reached the peak of happiness at that point - especially because the random lass id finished up watching them with was the happiest person I think id ever seen. It was a ludicrous but special moment - we both just knew how the other felt and hugged sillyly. Happily though that happiness plateau-d out for the rest of the weekend) and The Universal by Blur (I just wanted them to keep singing and singing and singing because I knew that when they stopped it was a night away from being all over and I really wasn't ready for that to happen). Happy, happy days ;)

For me this year it was Tom Jones singing 'Green, Green Grass of Home'. ;)

I know it's a bit of a cliche an ex-pat welsh(wo)man crying to this one, but there was something about standing in the fields of Worthy Farm with my very best friends and my husband all singing our hearts out to Tom Jones...

This year I held back some tears when my boyfriend and I were walking through the Tipi field heading towards Trash City and stumbled across this random tent where there were three women singing the most beautiful and crystal clear harmonies in acapella. It was truly amazing and I don't think I'll ever forget that night (the fact that I got back together with my boyfriend earlier in the night helps), I got gossebumps.

Oh I love a good blubble at Glasto

Coldplay 2002 Clocks, beautiful moment

Steve harley Cockney Rebel Make Me Smile Accoustic tent, was waiting for Roddy Frame & caught the end of Steve Harley, just started to sing Make Me Smile when all of sudden at least a hundred toddlers where lifted in the air, seemed to be a mad parents moment, but had tears in my eyes through that one.

Roddy Frame How Men Are Accoustic Tent, lovely song from a great performer.

Edwyn Collins Park Stage 2007 cried all the way through his set, found his whole set so humbling!!

Twang Either Way Peel Tent 2007 Great moment with my best 2 friends in the world, singing to each other.

Blur This Is A Low / Universal WOW what an amazing set, possibly one of the greatest Glastonbury sets of all time & not even a really big fan of theirs!!

Doves Spaceface Peel Tent 2009, when peels grinning face appeared on the video dropback WOW what an emotional moment that was!!!

I have two, the first was Ray Davies singing waterloo sunset, I honestly thought I was going to start blubbing. And then during pendulum when they started playing fasten your seatbelt and I was just so excited (oh and I found James and Harriet in the crowd and I don't think I'd been so happy to see people)

Not a Coldplay fan really, but when they played Fix You in 05 i welled up! Those opening organ chords are something special, was first time i'd heard the song as well.

Also foo fighters playing Everlong in 98 was a tearful moment. My fave song ever being played at Glasto in the pissing rain and clouds of steam bellowing off the hot and soaking wet mosh pit. All a bit too much!

Lilly allens set - Introducing the family including her kid sister Obviously emotional and proud moment for them , made me think of my family back at home , in particular being away from my 4 year old daughter.

Bruce Thunder road, Born to run and The river - It don't get any better than that

Blur and Damon Albarn's 'moment' and the crowd carrying things on - Magic

Quo - Big fat mama - They seemed genuinely touched by the reception after playing down the special status (no pun) of the gig. Great to be in the front two rows and have like minded people around me.

Most tears fell though with Taps STONEHENGE and Anvil in the cinema was a choker on Thursday - the crowd Willing them to success (pity they didn't get a slot next day)

Regina Spektor - Us

Fully anticipated it. I got a funny look from the girl next to me, BUT I DIDN'T CARE!

Watching it back now, even on a poor quality video from someone in the crowd(

) just makes me grin from ear to ear. Edited by Messy

I was in tears for 'There Goes the Fear' just before Spaceface: it was all far too much. Tune of the weekend for me.

Also must admit I shed a couple when Tom Middleton dropped my favourite Old Skool house tune, Joe Smooth's promised land.

Nothing wrong with shedding a tear or two - even a big burly bloke like me: shows you're fully committed to your music! Laugh about it now though

Blub moment: Forgetting that Crosby Stills & Nash still had 'Teach Your Children' available for their long encore - quite unable to sing along to it without welling up happily.

Jaw-on-the-floor moment: When Mad Dog McRea played 'Your Pretty Smile' halfway through their Avalon Cafe set. I had no idea people knew of its author Damien Dempsey, nevermind an act I newly-liked playing it.
