niceandfriendly
is it possible? i've seen a few peopple suggest doing this before you leave as a way of keeping your cans cool for at least a day or so. but i've also seen some people saying it just can't be done. has anyone actually done this before and does it work? do the cans expand too much in the freezer and if not does the drink lose its fizz? thanks. all very important questions you understand. kingrolo
you can freeze beer larger or cider but youve got to make sure they are thawed out properly before you open them ,otherwise you open them and all the fizz goes
Dominic1983
If you're drinking proper cider (i.e. not Wrongbow or Magners), then it tends to lose its flavour a bit if you freeze it, that's what I found.

niceandfriendly
I feel for you But once you've visited the cider bus, you'll never drink Wrongbow again, trust me
niceandfriendly
I have been doing it for years. Just bung the buggers in the freezer, but make sure they have been left to stand for an hour or 2. I think only 2 have ever broken their seals. Let them deforst and they don't lose fizz at all. Rufus Gwertigan
nice one. thanks for that. how long did they stay cold for when you arrived?
niceandfriendly
Right alot depends on how many, if you are in a car or have a cool box. In 2005 we took 6 frozen cases wrapped in some foil and a blanket and stored in a camper. We still had a couple of frozen cans from the middle on the Sunday... In an ice box, you may have a some frozen on day 2 but still cool by 3 or 4. Alot depends on how you plan on doing it
