Iggy and the stooges in relation to 2007 performance

I remember watching at home this performance, and it is the sole reason for getting me really interested in the festival, i was just back from hols, and i was like i have to be there next year ,..and i was... however i notice when people mention their fav sets it rarely gets a mention...without faithless and radiohead, for those who were there, would anyone say it was pretty high up there?

i wan't really expecting much but this turned out to be one of the most powerful perfomances i've ever seen.

there is something about iggy pop. you can't keep your eyes off of him.

Really enjoyed it...they were up against the killers on the pryamid stage if memory serves me correctly...was brilliant when 200 people covered in mud got up on stage with him.

Saw them again at Benicassim festival two weeks later and were just as good

I had wanted to see IP for a good 30 years! However, his performance was contrived and boring. This was not the IP I wanted to see (70s classic IP with burning wax and broken glass). I left to watch R and G on the jazz stage (stunning, although very delayed). Sorry, but that stage invasion was pathetic. If it was a one off, then maybe they we're 'in the zone', but it happens in almost every gig they do these days (festivals at least). Besides which, the Other Stage is the worst stage in the history of GB.

If you want classic, last yr's L Cohen was as good as it gets. Other than that, Richie Havens in the acoustic tent, Robert Plant in 93, any Van from the 80s, The Pixies and Velvet Underground - simply because it was THE VELVET UNDEGROUND ON THE PYRAMID STAGE!

There are others, but my dinner awaits...

Absolutely brilliant gig. I'd lost all my mates that night, didn't know where anyone was, so I went back to the tent, had a line, grabbed a few cans and took them down to the other stage to watch iggy. The mud was really thick around there at the time and it might have even been raining when he was on. No-one cared though, I've seen hundreds of bands but that was probably one of the top ten gigs I've ever seen.
