Me and my mate are getting there nice and early, should be there by 8am wednesday, hoping to save some space on pennards until other friends of ours arrive a few hours later. Not gonna cordon anything, just gonna sit about where they can put their tents. Hoping it'll be ok, we're nice chaps and we can always dish out a can or two to the neighbours to keep them happy!

No-one argues with scousers anyway :P

As I'm getting there for 8, and some of our group arn't getting there till the afternoon. So were taking a couple of thier tents down too and spacing them out till they get there, at which point we will put our tents closer together so they have space. Last year though there was a group who cornered off about 10 tents worth of space for their 4-5 tents, that does piss me off

I dislike it quite a lot and esp the whole tape, string, windbreaks, picket fence or whatever kinda thing TBH. Taking a mates tent and putting it up is one thing and totally acceptable but corralling off an area first thing Wednesday (and kinda growling at anyone who comes close) so mates etc. can turn up their leisure some considerable time later is something else. Make the effort or put up with what's available when you do arrive and all that. It's pretty unreasonable otherwise when those who do turn up early(ish) find loads of space is claimed but unused so to speak.

Mind you, had to laugh at the sad buggers peeps near me last year. One couple marked out this bl**dy huge rectangle with tape and put their tent up within. They then proceeded to stand guard over their claim for the rest of the day, Thursday and most of Friday. Like almost 24/7 !! There was always at least one of them but usually both sat there outside the tent waiting to repel intruders or whatever ! Very sad and I don't think the space ever got filled with an appropriate amount of tents/peeps anyway despite the fact space was at a bit of a premium all around. Not on. Make the effort or get what you get when you do turn up I reckon.

It annoys me when the people who are marking territory look angry and aggressive. I'd have no trouble with a group of people coming forward to me politely and explaining that they'd like to reserve a plot of land for friends.

It just becomes a problem hen they are rude and obnoxious. You can always spot one c**t using tape; which is ridiculous.

Im taking aound 10 tents down with me early doors Wednesday morning and putting them all up so my friends and I can all camp together. They will be coming down later on that afternoon after work. I will not be putting any tape up but will be getting all the ground sheets out and spacing them so we have enough room to be comfortable and have a small communal area.

Is this acceptable????
