last minute change of plans...

my mate who is driving us cant get wednesday off of work, so we have had to change tac a bit.

He is going to drive us to glasto obscenely early (he needs to be back in London for 7:30) so we will likely get to the place for about 5.

On the website, it says that the place opens at 8 and that anyone arriving early will get moved on by police. I am quite worried cos if we do get moved on we wont have a car and wont have anywhere to go lol. I guess my question is are we likely to get moved on at that time and is there a place where we can queue up for early entry as soon as the gates open?

I am aware I probably sound stupid but I have never been to Glasto and dont know how it works.

Can you not manage a BnB in Glastonbury town or nearby on the Tuesday maybe? Cab ride on the Wednesday morning wouldn't be too expensive.

thanks for the suggestions, I will bare them in mind.

I cant get the train at such short notice, the price is too high. I will get my mate to take us to the town and we can find a greasy spoon for brekkie and then get a cab or something.

You could always get him to drop you off at Castle Cary train station & get the shuttle bus in.

I'm sure if you get to the drop off point no one will move you on. I think it's more important that the roads aren't clogged up with people arriving in cars to park as the roads need to be clear for the last minute festival organising traffic. Get to the drop off point and if they won't let you in then sit down and open a can and wait!

Head for the drop/collect point. You won't get moved on from there. Maybe you'll have to sit around a bit waiting for the shuttle service to start up. It should be dry, so loll around, play some cards, have a chat or a nap.

thats a plan, thanks. Where exactly is the drop off point? I cant see it on the glasto site map

Drop / Collect point is off-site at Bath & West Showground, and there will be a shuttle bus to Gate A. Don't expect it to be running before 8 though...

That's if you can get near it. Be prepared for a lot of the roads round there to be diverted and have a back up plan just in case.

Wow, that's a good friend you have there. Make sure you guys get a siesta after you've set up camp. You don't want a knock on affect making you tired for the fest.
