But that's pretty good as far as your carbon footprint is concerned, especially if it's a local beer. Better than driving across the country to a rally.     "New car" is where the plan fails somewhat. Sure, it emits less, but the whole production of it has a carbon footprint. In some cases I'm sure you'd be better off getting a small secondhand petrol car.
