I rememebr in years gone by the best bit about this forum was all the chat about best festival memories, funniest moments etc etc But there are no threads this year, so I thought I'd start one!!

So what are your most lasting memories of Reading/Leeds?

I have many but I'll chuck a few in to get started.

I remember the first year I went, rocking up on the Thursday mornign about 8am (the earliest you could get in in them days), picking a random bit of empty field, whacking the tent up and promptly going for a kip. Then waking up a couple of hours later, craweling out the tent to find ourselves surrounded by another group who thought we were one of them, the looks on their faces when they realised none of them knew us was classic!

Fortunately they were a good group and we had a good time with them!

Last year there was a fab moment where we were all sat around having a drink etc when we hear someone yell "shout whoa", so my mate shouted! It seems that you were only supposed to shout if you had a surface for them to do their Ketamine from. Well, we only had a Krispy Kreme box which we didn't really want them to use. Their wasted protestations that it would be a "magical horsey experience" were priceless!

Ok time to share folks! I want to laugh and get excited please :)

There are no funny moments allowed at Reading this year. Everything has to be either deadly serious or suicide inducingly depressing. Anyone caught having fun will be shot. Any bands inspiring fun will be forced to attend a seminar on "lifeless and dull" with guest speaker Thom Yorke if they ever want to play at the festival again...

Some random sket throwing up bout 15 feet from our groups tent, then all shouting "you sir are revolting" as she walked past. Seriously I almost died of laughter, was off my face, never laughed so hard.

Some randomers walked past and said some of randomer looked like Mikey from Recess, then 3 of these lads and about 3 of my mates were singing the recess theme tune and dancing like twats for a good 5 mins. Good times

Loads more about sun tan lotion stanies, paddling pools and best of 25 rock-paper-scissors.

My first reading was brilliant but you kind of just take it all in. I remember arriving with older friends on the wednesday who had been before, and just being in awe of it all

Not sure the year but Blink-182 playing the mainstage was great fun.

05' I remember I fell into the swamp by yellow and lost my shoe, then fished it out again infront of a rather large crowd. things you'd only do when beer and a festival is involved haha

Too many to name but definitely 'Chair Man' in '06

Funniest couple of hours of my life.

Oh and being in the biggest Ket hole ever last year during all MGMT thinking they were amazing... proof that drugs really are baaaad.

Basically, in '06 we arrived late on the Thursday night and the closest space we could find was in Orange (this is Leeds btw) and when we arrived this lad came over to help us set up and he was f**ked so one of our friends said he could sit on one of our chairs. He took us up on the offer and so we duct-taped him to the chair, each of his arms to an arm on the chair and legs to a chair leg. Anyway his mates came over thinking it was hilarious pushed him over and in a struggle he kind of broke the chair enough to run away (very slowly) but with the whole chair still attached to him. After about 5 mins of falling over the chair was ruined but still attached so we chased him all the way from Orange to the main entrance and back at about 2 in the morning gathering people on the way shouting 'CHAIR MAN! CHAIR MAN!' with random people keep knocking him over and tripping him up. I've never seen anyone look so genuinely scared in all my life.

Also 'Social Tackle' is the best game to play at a festival. Basically you rugby tackle groups of complete strangers with your mates but before you get them shout 'Social Tackle'. This normally works best if a large group of people come stumbling through your camp, it's amazing how many people stay around after being tackled and help you :D.
