how long do you reckon steaks take to defrost?

i bought some steaks for a bbq at glasto and frozen them for the journey up, how long do you reckon they need to defrost properly?

It depends on the weather and where you will be storing them. Just make sure they aren't still icy on the inside and you'll be fine

I cooked lamb steaks for tea on Sunday and they took pretty much all day to defrost in the fridge, so maybe four hours if they're not in a fridge? Katster's right though, just check they're not frosty inside and you'll be fine, 'specially in you cook them through.

Depending how you like your steak. I like mine blue but love the bbq crispness on the outside so what I do is to not defrost them too long before chucking them on a hot bbq which means by the time the outside is crispy, the middle is warm and oozing with blood.

DO NOT try this with pork steaks but fine with lamb and ideal with good beef.

yeah i went for some taste the difference beef rump steaks, so do you reckon id be right with just grabbing em out of the freezer at 5am ish and then cooking them at 7pm ish. too long? not long enough?

3 hours max if left out @ room temp. im doin steak on weds aswell, not bbq tho, frieddddddd.
