Why bother...

Seriously, if it really is that bad don't go. Far better to let £150+ of ticket go to waste than knowingly turning up for a bad weekend. If the addition of bands like Bjorn Again is so offensive why on earth would you want to go for the handful of bands you do like? I expect this is my last V, it's the organisation of it that makes my teeth itch more than anything else, but also the lineup isn't a patch on last year's. There will always be some new/decent/interesting music to listen to at this festival, but it's the moronic attitude of my fellow festival-goers that puts me off. It used to be a great weekend, now it's just a spattering of decent bands punctuated with coked up chavs, 20,000 too many people (and more) and warm Carling!

In fact, there are a lot of people on this forum moaning consistently about the 'pop' bands this year. This is a commercial festival, and by definition will appeal to the largest common denominator. Go find a cheaper, smaller, better festival instead. There are plenty out there.

Now, I fully expect some of the more 'vocal' members of this forum will start abusing me or accusing me of poor grammar, questional parentage/sexuality, or other absurd character defect. Let's see if, for once, those people can keep their thoughts to themselves. Somehow I doubt it, I know who my money is on for the first attack, who will then no doubt insist it was ironic. Let's see...

damn i was totally beaten to calling this guy an asshole!

jokes mate (;

your not even that much of an asshole just your whole rant is strange and misguided

its kind of hard to know what you're even ranting at, the organization of the festival? the people attending the festival? the fact that there are idiots who buy tickets then complain?

it just seems strange to me...

I observed that people were complaining about pop acts being included, and that being a commercial festival this was to be expected. The point is that I'm not particularly looking forward to V this year, but not so much that I spend all my time on this forum bitching about it or being rude to other members. I haven't decided yet whether to go. Unless there are two or three bands added that interest me I'll probably decide to give it a miss. If I can't sell my ticket I'd rather let it go to waste than subject myself to a crap weekend!

The comment about drugs; I am an old-fashioned type who feels uncomfortable around some people who can't control themselves when under the influence. I think that's fair enough.
