jr1312
Can someone please tell me what the hell happened with N.E.R.D? They were way late onto stage and then the sound guys just turned the music off halfway through their set. Anyone know exactly what happened and why (in my opinion) it was so badly handled? harper11
seemed to be nerds fault really took ages to set up two drum kits like 1 hour
pinktequila
If you start late and run over you get cut off, if not then what happens to the headliners, do we cut them short and say they can just do two songs to end the night?
Laura_Babs
Apparently he was 25 minutes late turning up! Not cool! Really enjoyed the performance but not so keen on the ego. They warned him - he knew he had 5 minutes - he should have stopped. Cracking performance though!
dieweener
Yeah, I say NERD fault too, i mean, they chose to bring out the kit like 10 minutes before they started. Wtf? They had a good half hour to set all that shit up, and then Pharell chose to f**k the time management crew and stayed on way past what they should of done but in my opinion, the Glasto guys were a bit of a dick to cut the f**king sound out halfway through a song, no matter if they are breaking the rules, I got really pissed off about that. Equally gutting they were bloody cut off for Fleet Foxes and didn't even get to hear my favorite song, She Likes To Move. But yeah mainly set up guys fault and then the dickishness off the ppl in charge of sound volumes. Should of turned it off before the song or at least at the end. Alcatraz
Speed Caravan got cut off on the Jazzworld which was really sad coz they were pumping out the greatest cover I've ever heard. (Galvanise by Chemical Brothers)
Zacko
Was really annoyed as it was a great set up until that point - Spaz was very good.
artisresistance
The wya it was handled was poor, and IMHO, not in the spirit! The best thign to do would have been to let them finish the song, then fade them down - what's teh worst that would have happenned? less Marcus fecking Brigstock for five minutes? gizmoman
If they are not professional enough to be able to set up in time and continue to play after they have gone beyond their alloted time AND been given a 5 minute warning, then the stage manager was right to switch them off, it's not the first time it's happened, Primal Scream got the treatment a few years ago when they were acting up. shearer999
Yeah I thought it was poorly handled tbh. Having read on there blog though they were late to arrive at the site due to flying in from croatia on ther friday morning. The most comical bit, for me, was the guy who came out and told everyone that "they werent powerless and could have their voices heard". Irony at its best
Rhyscot
We were vurtually on the front barrier, they were immense, its such a shame when they turned it all off. Oh and then that man came on stage preaching sh*t ! I dont think anyone wanted to hear !
Laura_Babs
So how long were they supposed to be on for cause there was at least an hour and half set aside for "special guests"
serginhowardinho
If you run over at festivals you get cut off. I've seen it happen at least half a dozen times, but i bet i've also seen acts cut short their set maturely and not even realised. They ought to have acted with a bit of grace, moved 'She Likes to Move' a bit earlier than intendedand then bogged off. If Pharrell Williams hadn't spent the first ten minutes of the set whining about everyone getting their $200 dollars worth they'd have had longer to perform too. And nobody paid that much chuffing money to see them. A lot of people wouldn' have known they were playing given that they were only confirmed late in the day - and i doubt anyone in the world spent that much cash just to see those dickheads. I was quite looking forward to seeing them at Lovebox until they acted like spoilt little pricks at Glasto.
Jet_Moderno
I heard (from this forum, I think), that flew in from Croatia on Friday, and just didnt have time setting up. Hope they come back next year

crimsonking
Would have prefered a full N.E.R.D set than listening to Marcus bloody Brigstock preaching to us about Nuclear Disarmament.
chuckley
but who sets up the stages?? surely its the festival people and not the bands people????? however the short half hour they were on it was IMMENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they had headlined, the place woulda gone WIIIIIIIIIIIIILDD! at least pharrell came out and explained tho rather than us all w8in thinkin 'whats goin on'! however they really didnt have to cut him like that. ova harsh! PLUS they were confimed at leats a month beofre the festival so EVERYONE knew NERD were playin the friday pyramid slot. and with the amount he meant the festival ticket., NOT their ticket. they may be arrogant but not even Pharell is stupid enuff to think the 5 day festival all boiled down to their 1 hour performance. come on now. I was quite looking forward to seeing them at Lovebox until they acted like spoilt little pricks at Glasto.
