Darkshine84
Up until Wednesday 24th June 2009 I was a Glastonbury virgin. Up until Wednesday 24th June I was a festival virgin. Over the last 5 days I have decided to enter an exclusive relationship with Glastonbury, I will return next year. And the year after that. And so forth. Wow, just wow. I don't actually think I can put into words how amazing I found it. The sheer size of the place is mind blowing. The food, the drink, the people, the atmosphere, everything about it is...epic. In a way it was probably the hardest 5 days of my life. Trekking back to car parks in blistering heat. Sleeping in a tent in torrential thunderstorms. Pissing and shitting in a hole in the gorund. Paying over the odds for a bacon roll. But would I change any of it? Would I hell. It was the best five days of my life. I saw some amazing bands. I saw some shit bands. But I enjoyed every single minute of it. I will definatly be bringing some first timers next year to try and convert them. Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, I SALUTE YOU. Nicky Of The Living Dead
You've just put into words exactly how I felt this time last year. If anything, this year's festival has made me fall in love with Glasto even more. The second time, you'll get to see so many more brilliant things which you might have missed the first time. joebingo
Your post sums up perfectly everything I felt last year. It was my second Glasto this year, and I do believe it to be, for those five days, the best place on earth! I just love it there.
Zacko
Ditto to the above, that's basically how I would describe it but worded a lot better. I feel bad for the rest of my mates who didn't go with our group just because the rest of us aren't going to stop going on about it now. halfpint
I wasn't a festival virgin but was a glasto one....it has changed my view on what a good 5 days in a field should be. I shall be back and am counting down the days to next year
Bexxxxx
Brilliantly put - and i've been going for years. Glastonbury takes (maybe even demands) a lot of you - it can be bloody hard work. But for everything it takes it gives back more. I have spent many an hour during the festival over the years i've been going wondering why i put myself though it, but then you come across one of the many 'magical moments' which Glastonbury has by the bucket load and i'm smiling ear to ear - all the hard work, trauma, bad weather and downsides forgotten

EamerRed
Before this festival, not only was a festival virgin, but I'd never been to a gig before. This has been the best 5 days of my life, absolutely awesome, great fun. Blur, Lady Gaga, Dead Weather, etc, were all outstanding, but they were topped off easily by Pendulum. What a set! They were unbelievable, great fun, still get shivers down my spine watching it. Only thing I can think of to make it better, is to shorten the path between Gate A and the tents, by cutting across (not explained very well I know), bigger gaps around the Pyramid stage for leaving, and some sort of control over food prices. Other than that, it was perfect, best 5 days of my life by a mile.
