rustybutcher
Why is it that alot of the bands say thank you to a place called glastonberry? I thought we were at the glastonbury festival, not in the middle of a fruit ? The black eyed peas seemed to think they were in london as well.... lovestospoon
I come from about 6 miles from the site and the actual town of Glastonbury and my accent moulds it as Glastonbree - so am I wrong?

LusciousLucy
Well its better than Glaaarsetonbury isnt it? When my mum came out with that one the other day I had to say, beg pardon...WHERE? I know some of the locals call the town that but not in my world! And I too thought you were referring to the Glastonav function on the palmtops! gingergeorge
I noticed this as well. I thought it was a westcountry vs rest of UK/the world thing. I am also from the West Country and I pronounce it Glastonbree which is correct. I know this because we stopped off and used the loo at a farmshop close to the site and the farmer came out, commented on my enormous boots and then said "Glaaastonbree" in a knowing way. It sounded a bit like a sheep bleating. The American acts I saw all called it Glastonberry, so did Roots Manuva. I assumed that was because he wasn't from the West Country. Katster
The bad thing about the Black Eyed Peas was that to rectify what he had said he started waffling on about how he loved the whole of England, the whole of the UK, and London. It was cringeworthy.
TomfromStroud
Isn't it a hangover from Sir Paul McCartney. As is "Hullo Glastonberry, can you boogie in yer wellies"

remote
While we're at it, I'm sure Lady Gaga said "26th July 2009" during her set. Does that mean we get to go back in a month?
