Biggest surprise of the weekend?

I'm ashamed to say it, but I really liked Bjorn Again in the rain on Friday morning - got the festival going for me properly.

Good surprises:

Dodgy - I got my timing wrong and got to Avalon expecting to see Seth Lakeman but caught most of Dodgy, who were excellent.

Pendulum.

Just how nice the Goan Fish Curry was

Bad Surprises:

The random rain at 2am on Monday morning

The price of a pint of Gaymers

Lady GaGa - she was ace! Was expecting rubbish but she was great!

Oh and the other surprise was not dying after pushing the freaking trolley from W29 to Hitchin Hill! I had to send the kids on ahead to yell encouragement up the last hill!

Prodigy needed to be in a smaller enclosed venue. That's how I saw them earlier this year, and they were FAR better then.

Doves - I aways thought they were OK - now think they are amazing

Bruce Springsteen - again never really listened to him now WOW

The Gaslight anthem - especailly when Bruce came on - I shouted so loud I lost my voice - oops :-)

WOW really??? they are so BIG performance wise that ud think big a open stage is better!

however i think they woulda been worse on the pyramid stage.

I saw Pendulum too, wasn't that bothered about seeing them, but I ended up dancing like I used to back in the day when I was a 20 year old raver and a hell of a lot slimmer. I was in a LOT of pain afterwards, in fact I still ache now

i was supposed to be choosing between blur and prodigy and ended up with my wife and 11yr. old son at black eyed peas. brilliant! but that could have been the company i was with.

boss joining Gaslight Anthem!!!

cant believe so many have already mentionned it,didnt think many were there!!

I was nearly at the front and the look on the lead singers face for the rest of the set

was just brilliant!!

Also going to see Teddy Thompson at Avalon

and finding Glenn Tilbrook and his 6 year old son instead!!

i've always disliked nick cave but ended up hearing the second half of his set and was surprised to really enjoy it.

i'd also forgotten that i love mike skinner.

For me it had to be how talented a human beat boxer Marcus Brigstocke was. He came on during the Shlomo set at the park to have a battle with the female world champion. Everybody just thought he was there to make her sound good yet gave her a real run for her money.
