eFestivals
I went and checked out the new Banksy exhibition in Bristol on Sunday - it really is superb! What I particularly liked was that along with areas dedicated to Banksy there's also some of his stuff mixed in with the normal Museum exhibits. Originally - when it opened - there were 100 Banksy exhibits ..... tho he crept back in on Friday night and added a new piece he'd just created .... on the subject of Michael Jackson. It's hilarious! If you get the chance to check it out then do - I highly recommend it. It's open from 10am till 5pm every day till 31st August, and is free. If you're going, you're advised to join the queue no later than 3pm, cos it's an hour queuing to get in and you need at least an hour to see it all. llcoolphil
We had an e fests school trip on the monday between Avebury and Glastonbury and it really is a superb exhibition. Have a look on the gable end of a house on the way up to the gallery from the city centre for a Banksy in situ too

Lauz_Abbott
ah i want to go and have a look!!! how long does it take to drive from dorset to bristol?!
parTy animal
That queue was enormous. Had wanted to see the Museum and Gallery ever since I got my Glastonbury ticket and decided to do a day's sightseeing in Bristol beforehand (so about 8 months!) but one look at that queue and we decided to give it a miss as we were restricted in our time. Cabot Tower was also closed so all my planning was shattered last Tuesday! Got to go to and cross the Clifton Suspension Bridge though which was cool. angelofharlem
My son has been three times now to the exhibition..he loves it. I shall be going next week. My daughter told me that a guy she works with is a friend of Banksy..apparently they used to hang around together..I'm trying to get some more information from her! howlin_pete
Think I might try head down this week, have got f**k all hours at work at the moment so can only do free things, Bristol is only an hour out and me n my mate are going crazy bored living in the middle of nowhere having moved back from the city a month back. Just got to convince her I guess, probably not the easiest task!

kohoutec
We took a trip up to Bristol yesterday with the main intention of visiting the exhibition. Arrived at the museum at 10am and the queue was already around 4 hours long. I know queuing is a british institution but that's bloody crazy! I will be trying again, but not on a Saturday

I will be trying again, but not on a Saturday I suggest doing a Sunday - I reckon if you got there for 9am, you'd get in almost instantly when the doors open at 10am. (I went on a Sunday [tho before the school holidays], and arrived at about 9:40 - it took around an hour before we got in).

eFestivals
Do you reckon this would be less if I tried a similar time on a weekday? you might be lucky, tho I reckon Sunday would be quieter, just on the basis that people in general aren't used to getting up as early on a Sunday as they are on weekdays. -pogo-
Do you guys like any other kind of street art or graffiti other than Banksy? I'm gonna try and get to this, I think he's good, but it's a shame that the mainstream see's him as the kind of "token" artist of his "genre"
