MM Punk
As an Arsenal fan I eagerly await the football fixture list for the new season to come out, and you can guarentee that EVERY year that the Reading Festival takes place, Arsenal will be live on TV. It's happened for the last f**king 5 years now, maybe even the last 7. This year is even worse. It's VS Man Utd away and it's a 5.30pm kickoff on the Saturday. It's nice to take a break from the festival and go to a pub for a nice cold pint or 5, but it's a pain having to miss bands. Plus if we lose, then that'll pretty much ruin the day. So it looks like this year i'll be going to the pub on my own, probably in my Arsenal shirt, and likely to risk the piss taking from Man Utd fans on the long walk back to the campsite. Anyone else get a similar problem with football clashing with music? Edited July 26, 2009 by MM Punk

MM Punk
I guess it depends what you put first - football or music. I have to watch the football because I know I won't enjoy the bands if I don't, I'll just be constantly fiddling with my phone checking the score. If Utd tank us 4-0 I might just shoot off home
j...rox
No such luxury as being on TV every 2-3 weeks as a rovers fan, and living down this end of the country means i never get to see them anymore. I think White Lies & The Maccabees will be able to captivate me more than the football anyway. Plus it's West Ham we're playing should be 3 points for us this time round. Fozzy_Bear
Birmingham at home for Spurs. I'll take The Prodigy live over that any day. Especially since they best us last time

Flasher
Get over it. Leeds/Reading is once a year, enjoy yourself!
beLIEveR
If I'm not at the game I'm not too fussed about how much I catch. Seeing as I wouldn't have gone to Swansea away, and I'd rather listen to the Mad Caddies than BBC Three Counties Radio, I think the decision is quite easy. fuzzylogic
This is why I'm glad I don't follow a particular football team, I'd hate to have to live my life around fixtures, put plans on hold and then spend the rest of the day in a bad mood because my team lost. Sparticus
i get paid to go switch suits me down to the ground, just gutted it's arsenal, but i'll just get someone to text the result through/ nick my mate's iphone and watch the highlights inbetween bands It wouldn't ruin my mood though, it's only one game in the premier league. Champions league was another thing, ouch! Ended up buying a ticket to rock werchter which quickly cheered me up (and financially ruined me lol), so swings and roundabouts. Your team loses, buy a hat from the silly hat stall
Role Model
I'm livid, if it was Saturday lunchtime, or Sunday lunchtime I'd just go out to the pub and watch it, but as it's 5 kick off, which is firstly odd as usually that match is never on a saturday evening, I doubt i'll get to see it. but football > music, so chances are i'll be going off on my own to watch it. likelyladtom
Walsall are at home to Gillingham. Prefer to miss a home game to be honest, especially as I'm going to Charlton away the week before and Norwich away the week after.

Cockney_Jesus
I support Luton Town, they're away to Kettering... Not quite Man U v Arsenal but I'll still be texting my mum for the score!
jonnyx
Didn’t these fixtures come out a few weeks ago? It’s a bit weird to be suddenly complaining about it now. ‘loyal supporters’ and all that?.

Lithium05
As a West Ham fan I know that we lose whenever I'm at Reading (lost to Man City last year, Bolton in 2006 and I think Spurs in 2005), unless it's a game we really should win, in which case we'll draw (Wigan at home 2007) Blackburn away this year so I expect Blackburn to chalk up a victory
kev1664
It has just went great for me this year, last year I missed one of Newcastles only home wins when we beat Bolton. However this year the leicster city game at St James' park has been moved to the Bank Holiday Monday night, So I get the joy of being able to do both without missing a thing
