penlanspice
Anyone know what ID you have to show when you pick up your disabled ticket at V? Our friend is thinking of coming and they have just put disabled tickets back on, he has a letter from job centre plus stating he gets mobility but no blue card etc. Thanks Edited July 27, 2009 by penlanspice

cabstar
You should receive a pack with all the disabled information inside before the festival, you need to take that to the wristband point along with your carer. The pack contains a car park pass, your blue badge gets you free car parking, 2 disabled camp wristbands, these get you into the disabled car park, which you can drive your vehicle into, the stupid stewards on the gate will argue you cannot bring your vehicle into the site, go get a steward from disabled camping who will let you bring your vehicle into the campsite. You will need to argue with the stupid steward at the entrance to wristband exchange who will not be aware that your carer & yourself get in with the same ticket, do not give up, tell him/her you will go to the counter & sort it out, if you are wrong then they will not give you your wristbands, you will then face the wristband person who also has absolutely no idea what you are talking about, who will then get a the supervisor who will tell the wristband person to put a wristband on both of you. Under the disability act no one is allowed to ask you why you are disabled or what your illness is. We face these same issues at Staffs year on year guaranteed, it never gets sorted!!! Beerqueen
Sounds like we were lucky then! But you reminded me that the first year, included in all the bumph I took along was the print out from the v festival site saying that a carer gets in free - take along as much as possible and you should be ok. Just bear in mind whenever you deal with staff at V that by coming on here and reading the posts, you are always better informed than they are! They obviously get no training at all! Oh and you don't have to camp in disabled camping if you don't want to, nor park in disabled parking (though I don't know if you'll get free parking if you park elsewhere)
