Did eventually end up getting a day ticket for the Oasis day, as there are a few decent bands on, but I, as with seemingly many others on here, won't be going again unless they pull an incredible lineup out of the bag next year, ideally with a bit of diversity to it, like in 06. The problem with V is it doesn't really offer anything much beyond the music- it's essentially just a big gig in a field. That's all well and good when the lineup's good, but when it's as bad as this years, there's nothing to encourage me to spend so much money on a two day festival.

My last V was last year. To be fair the weather didn't help which wasn't V's fault but the organisation was shite. No festies for me this year due to being out of work but a friend of a friend is getting married at Download next year so that's where I will be next year.

Must also get to Glasto if my mates would get their arse in gear!!

I'd recommend T in the Park, Glasto, Benicassim and Exit... all for different reasons...

Gotta say - I got my V tickets as I grew up 5 miles away in Albrighton and hoped a few old mates would be there. Most can't be arsed and seeing this years line-up I can't blame them. This will be my first and last V.

Looks like there'll be a great leaving do in Orange this year with everyone jumping ship!

every year I say its going to be my last V, this year I'm making the first step by just going saturday. having been to Glastonbury this year and reading/Leeds in the previous 4 years V is very tame and becomes more and more of a pop party in a park.

The only reason I go to V this year is to watch a couple of the lesser acts and hang out with friends who seem to only be able to drag themselves a mile or so to go to a festival rather than make a proper trip of it!

I'm not complaining - there's plenty to keep me going the whole weekend. I just agree with lots of others, that the line-up isn't very strong this year. What should've been a great weekend with some old friends is dampened somewhat as some can't see past £150 for what will be a mediocre festival by previous standards.

Telling people to f**k off for voicing opinions on a public forum is hardly conducive to the festival atmosphere is it?

This is our fifth and last year. V has gotten a bit sloppy with the lineup and the cost. That said though, i hope to have an amazing time this weekend and am still looking forward to a weekend away with mates. I hope the atmosphere and the weather keeps us going all weekend. Roll on glasto next year! :(

Spot on mate. Can't see the point in having a forum if everybody agrees with everybody else...

But in saying that...the line-up ain't changing now so we might as well make the most of it

Exactly - and the efest gang are looking to go out with a blast this weekend! Mind you if I'd shelled out as much as shedboy on trains, tickets and hotels I'd be pretty fooked off with people trying to burst my "ain't V great" bubble... like I said - there is plenty to keep me occupied - even if it is just avoiding some of the sh!te I don't want to see!

If The View were coming down from Dundee with him I'd be happier.

I haven't decided if this will definitely be my last V, but I am looking to branch out too. I certainly won't be buying the earlybird tickets when they go on sale the week after the festival, like I did last year.

The main thing that is fuelling the change is the fact V only has 2 days of music. When you look at the price of tickets to other festivals, most of which offer 3 days of live music, V does seem a poor relation.

I'm also a little disappointed with the line-up, although there are bands that will keep me happy at all times over the 2 days. It is nice that there is some variety in the line up (ie Fatboyslim and other dance acts) but the inclusion of N-Dubz (who??) and Tinchy Stryder (what???) makes me realise I am getting old!

I will be trying to do IoW next year, or maybe Leeds. I have loved V in the past, and had some great times, and I'm sure I will enjoy it loads this year too. I just object to paying as much as other festivals and only getting two days of music...
