Buying tickets ebay/scarlet mist

Hi all, me and a cppl of mates are interested in trying to get hold of reading tickets, have never bought festival tickets from unofficial sources just wondering what the number of fake sales is like on the above sites. Also does the protection offered by paypal help on ebay? Thanks for any advice!

With Scarletmist, I would only do business if I can meet with the person and exchange cash for the tickets, especially if a lot of money is concerned. There are 2 sets of 4 x Reading tickets on scarletmist right now, one set in Edinburgh, one in London. If either if those locations are convenient for you, you can send the seller a question, ask if they have the tickets in hand, and whether they are prepared to meet you to do the deal.

With ebay, I would look for someone who has sold many tickets before (sadly this often means they are a tout), or who at least has sold many items of a similar value (and not just items for a tenner) and that they have good feedback (so they have something to lose if they mess you around). Make sure you get special delivery, even if you have to pay extra. Or just look out for someone who is selling tix in your area and send them a question beforehand to ask if you are the winner if they are prepared to meet up to do the exchange.

Hope you get to go

Good luck

leeds/ reading weren't affected by the credit crunch in terms of sales. Melvin used it as a great way to justify some bands that really don't warrant their position (courteeners 5th, have they had more than one single? ). Majority of people that go are around the 16 - 20 bracket, the younger of those will either use mummy/daddy or have a part time job (and let's face it, when you're younger, you'll do anything bar prostitution or medical research to get some cash, so that's not been an issue).

The elders in that age group are likely at university and have a great time whinging about how the govt don't give them enough money to study sports science.
